"Are you threatening us?" The middle-aged man opposite furrowed his brows once again.

The leader of the hijackers seemed troubled, but after a moment's thought, he agreed to Hou Mengdie's request. Of course, there was no guarantee that he didn't harbor other intentions—perhaps, once they had Hou Mengdie under control and had rescued their own leader, he would turn on Long Fei.

Hou Mengdie stood up. At this point, fleeing or resisting head-on were no longer the best options. A degree of compromise wasn't necessarily a bad thing; at least it could preserve her life for the time being. As for the Devout Army, Hou Mengdie knew nothing about what kind of organization it was, nor did she have any interest. It would be truly senseless to lose her life because of it.

"Kid, you’re lucky today. For Miss Hou’s sake, we’ll let this slide for now. But you’d better behave yourself—there won’t be a second chance for you!” The hijacker leader sneered at Long Fei.

At that moment, Long Fei did something that shocked everyone. He pulled Hou Mengdie into his arms with a roguish grin, completely ignoring her fierce resistance, and laughed at the hijackers.

"What are you doing?" The armed men were stunned, and the leader was utterly baffled. By now, Long Fei should have been thanking his lucky stars, so why was he suddenly embracing Hou Mengdie? Was he out of his mind? Or simply besotted by lust?

"I don’t want to do anything. I just don’t want you to take her,” Long Fei said, skillfully restraining Hou Mengdie’s hands. He couldn’t control her legs, so he clamped her legs with his own—a somewhat suggestive position that made his heart flutter.

What a temptress.

"Are you really not afraid to die? Do you think she’s worth risking your life for?" the leader asked, frowning.

"Precisely because she saved me just now, I can’t let you take her. I don’t mind owing debts of love, but I never want to owe a debt of gratitude. So, this is just repaying what I owe—call it even. As long as you don’t harm her, that’s best for everyone. Otherwise, you’ll regret it,” Long Fei said with a laugh.

Hou Mengdie realized her struggle was futile, and hearing Long Fei’s words, her opinion of him shifted ever so slightly. Yet pressed tightly against his chest, the sour, sweaty scent from his clothes made her feel nauseous.

Scoundrel! She cursed him a thousand times in her heart but had no choice but to stop struggling. The more she thrashed, the more acutely she felt her chest pressed against his, and she was certain Long Fei felt the same. At the thought, a faint blush crept onto her cheeks.

It was simply unbearable. The leader waved his hand, signaling his men to move in on Long Fei.

"Wait!" Long Fei suddenly grew serious. "Let’s talk—don’t use your guns. How about this: I’ll go with you to the control room. But if you threaten me, I can’t guarantee her safety!"

At some point, Long Fei had drawn a knife and pressed it to Hou Mengdie’s neck.

Feeling the cold blade at her nape, Hou Mengdie suddenly felt aggrieved. Any favorable impression she’d just formed instantly vanished. No longer caring about her image, she snapped, "You’re despicable!"

"Idiot, if I weren’t, you’d already be dead," Long Fei whispered in her ear, his lips so close that he blew a breath across her delicate earlobe. She shivered, a tingling heat spreading through her, shamed and anxious. She wanted to curse him again but couldn’t think of anything harsh enough—and with the knife at her neck, she dared not move.

With a raised hand, the leader stopped his men from firing. He hadn’t expected Long Fei to pull such a trick. At this point, accompanying Long Fei and Hou Mengdie to the control room seemed the only option; he’d have to play it by ear.

"Fine, you’ll come with her," the leader said, heading off first. Long Fei wrapped his arm around Hou Mengdie and followed, flanked by two armed hijackers.

The control room was smeared with blood. A man lay dead in a pool of it—most likely the flight captain. The remaining crew, under the threat of a gunman, manipulated the plane’s course.

Covering her mouth, Hou Mengdie nearly screamed. She’d always been squeamish at the sight of blood, and almost fainted. Long Fei steadied her, but this time, didn’t force her into his embrace. The knife, however, remained pressed to her back.

"Well, as you can see, the situation is entirely under our control," the hijacker leader said, sitting down leisurely and addressing Hou Mengdie. "To be honest, Miss Hou, on the way back here, I realized—we could have used the remaining passengers to exchange for our leader, even without you. Still, I’d prefer your cooperation. After all, you have many fans among us. Hurting you is a last resort. Do you understand?"

Hou Mengdie’s expression shifted, but Long Fei’s only grew more radiant, his smile dazzling. The hijackers exchanged puzzled glances—it seemed Long Fei was even happier now that they were in the control room.

"What are you laughing at? Don’t you realize you’re at death’s door?" the leader asked, eyeing Long Fei suspiciously.

"Alright, I’ll be honest. The reason I wanted you to bring me here wasn’t to negotiate," Long Fei said with a smile.

"Oh? Well, it doesn’t matter. I have no intention of negotiating with you—in fact, you have neither the qualification nor the leverage," the leader replied.

Long Fei shrugged. "Is that so?" He checked his watch, glanced at the control panel, and seemed impatient. "Sorry, I’m done playing with you. Listen up: I’m hijacking this plane now. I order you to change course—head for Longhua Airport in Huaxia!"

"Are you insane?!"

Everyone stared at Long Fei as if he’d lost his mind. Even Hou Mengdie and the crew shook their heads, sighing as though lamenting another life about to be lost.

"Of course, you can refuse," Long Fei said, his eyes growing cold. "But you should know, I have the right to take your lives too."

Hijacking a plane—is it really so much fun? Then let me try it, too!
