Long Fei understood the Dragon Maiden’s feelings all too well. In truth, those who stood at great heights often found themselves lonely, and the higher a person climbed, the more desperately they longed for love. This was even more true of a woman like the Dragon Maiden. Yet because of her unusual constitution and identity, ordinary men found it nearly impossible to move her heart. As she had said, perhaps fate itself had decreed that she would love only Long Fei.
Pulling her more tightly into his arms, Long Fei smiled. “That’s right. In my eyes, you are my woman. By the way, you just said that I still can’t get you pregnant. Why is that?”
“I don’t know either. But according to the esoteric doctrines of Hinduism, you must cultivate the Dragon Yang Divine Art to the tenth level first.” The Dragon Maiden sighed, hesitating as though she wanted to say more.
Long Fei said gloomily, “The Dragon Yang Divine Art again! All of you people refuse to tell me where I can learn it. When am I ever going to master it?”
“I—I’m not supposed to reveal any more secrets of heaven. It would do neither of us any good. But you look so anxious that I’ll tell you this much: I know there is one person in the world who possesses this divine art. He cannot cultivate it to the tenth level, but he is in the nation of Hua Xia.” At last, the Dragon Maiden offered him a hint.
For her, she had already revealed far too much. To Long Fei, however, her words were no different from saying nothing at all. Seeing how seriously she spoke, and not wanting her to suffer some terrible retribution for revealing the secrets of heaven, he hurriedly laughed.
“All right, all right. Since it’s a secret of heaven, don’t reveal anything more. If fate intends for me to learn it, I certainly will, won’t I?”
“Mm. You will learn it. It belongs to you in the first place, and there is no escaping it. Once you master the Dragon Yang Divine Art, I’ll be able to return what belongs to you.”
“What belongs to me? What is it?” Long Fei stared at her in surprise.
The Dragon Maiden gave him a mysterious smile. “I’ll keep that secret for now. When the time comes, I’ll give you a mysterious gift. There’s no joy in a surprise if you announce it beforehand.”
Held tightly in Long Fei’s embrace, the Dragon Maiden could feel that his hands had become even more daring than before. She felt as though she might climax at any moment, and a wave of arousal spread through her entire body. Her body began to twist involuntarily in his arms, while her speech grew halting and broken.
Long Fei naturally sensed her desire as well. He secretly marveled at how sensitive her body was. What he did not know was that with anyone else, no matter how skillful their touch, it might have been impossible to stir even the faintest response in her. The affairs of this world were truly wondrous; what fate ordained was often beyond the imagination of ordinary people.
“All right, we’ll discuss this another time. Let your husband examine your body first, Dragon Girl!” Laughing, Long Fei carried her straight to the bed and began pulling off her clothes. The Dragon Maiden, however, smiled sweetly.
“Aren’t you going to take a shower?”
“Yes! Yes!” Long Fei could only nod in resignation. Damn it. They would have to wash afterward anyway, wouldn’t they? Still, no matter how unwilling he was, and no matter how impatient he felt, he could only agree. He needed something from her now, after all. Such matters could not be one-sided; it was best when both people gave themselves to it, so that together they might reach true satisfaction.
The bathtub in the presidential suite was enormous. Even with both of them lying inside, there was still plenty of room. They washed themselves perfunctorily, but Long Fei could wait no longer. He pressed the Dragon Maiden down in the tub and ravished her for quite some time, then carried her to the bed. Naturally, they spent the entire night together, so thoroughly occupied that neither had time to close their eyes.
When Long Fei awoke, the Dragon Maiden was already sitting beside the bed, watching him with a smile.
Long Fei blinked. “Wife, Dragon Girl, why are you up so early?”
He glanced at the time on the wall. It was already nearly eleven. Just as he was preparing to get out of bed, the Dragon Maiden pressed him back down.
Watching him with a tender smile, she said, “Sleep a little longer. You might as well get up at noon and eat then. I have to go.”
A trace of disappointment crossed Long Fei’s heart. “Why not stay with me for a few more days?”
“Don’t worry. I’ll come back to find you tonight. I still have some matters to attend to in Japan over the next two days, and the day after tomorrow I’m going to watch the decisive battle between Daoist Songhe and Abe Hiroaki.” The Dragon Maiden smiled.

Long Fei complained, “What’s so interesting about watching that? You might as well stay here and sleep with me!”
The man was shameless indeed. He had no idea that the Dragon Maiden was going to watch the battle entirely because of him. He would never know the painstaking thought behind her actions, and she had no intention of telling him. She believed it was what she ought to do. She was the Dragon Maiden, and Long Fei was the Azure Dragon. She loved him, and he was her man.
After the Dragon Maiden left, Long Fei was about to get out of bed when he frowned and called toward the door, “Come in.”
Still dressed entirely in black, with a black veil covering her face and concealing her peerless beauty, Phoenix looked somewhat anguished. She glanced at Long Fei once, then hurriedly lowered her head.
Long Fei knew that Phoenix was suffering, but he did not know how to comfort her, still less what he ought to do. Surely he could not stop keeping company with women merely because she was hurt? That might only make her feel worse.
Turning his head aside, he asked as though nothing had happened, “Any news from outside?”
Phoenix lifted her head. “Last night, John Paul razed the Black Dragon Bar and the Black Dragon Casino to the ground. Now the leaders of the Triad Group, the Inada Society, and the other gangs formerly under the Black Dragon Society are fighting among themselves, all scrambling to become its next chairman—”
“Is Ichiro Uchida dead?” Long Fei was genuinely somewhat concerned about Uchida.
“He’s dead.” Phoenix did not continue.
Long Fei nodded, feeling somewhat pleased. That man had been unpleasant in every possible way; he deserved to die. It seemed the Dragon Maiden’s predictions really were astonishingly accurate. If he ever wanted to gamble in the future, he could simply bring her along. That would guarantee ten wins out of ten.
“Oh, right. Did the Koga and Iga clans suffer any losses last night?” Long Fei suddenly remembered the matter.
Phoenix nodded. “The Iga clan withdrew at the critical moment, so apart from the three middle-ranking ninjas killed by the young master, they suffered virtually no losses. Koga Yatian is actively recalling the clan’s ninjas, though. It seems the Iga clan is blaming them for what happened. The two ninja families are clearly at odds, but for some reason they seem wary of one another and have held back from fighting.”
Long Fei did not care what the two great ninja families were wary of. He only wanted them to start fighting. With a sinister chuckle, he said, “We don’t need to concern ourselves with what they fear. Since they refuse to fight, we’ll add a little fuel to the fire. You’re skilled in ninjutsu, aren’t you? Go stir things up for them tonight. I refuse to believe they still won’t fight after that!”
Phoenix was startled, then immediately understood. She nodded. “All right. I understand.”
When Phoenix reached the door, Long Fei called after her.
“Be careful.”
Phoenix turned and left. Warmth touched her heart, though her eyes felt faintly sore. No matter how Long Fei treated her, she believed that he still loved her. Her own love for him had never changed, either.
Long Fei climbed out of bed slowly. Like Phoenix, the Dragon Maiden possessed an extraordinary constitution, so spending the entire night with her had taken a great deal of stamina. Fortunately, he was Long Fei. Ordinary men would never have survived such intense physical exertion. Of course, Long Fei felt that if he died exhausted in a woman’s arms, he would have no regrets.
There was an old saying: “To die beneath the peonies and remain a gallant ghost.” Long Fei believed it deeply. He was certain that the poet who had written those lines must have been a kindred spirit; otherwise, he could never have understood the sentiment so profoundly or produced such exquisite verse.
He planned to go downstairs and solve both breakfast and lunch at once. But the moment he opened the door, he saw Jenny leaning against the door opposite, smiling at him. She came over, wrapped her arms around him, and kissed him passionately.

Jack and Sid returned from outside and saw the pair embracing and kissing in the corridor. Whether they were envious or jealous, no one could say. In any case, they shook their heads, went into the room, and pretended they had seen nothing.
In truth, they had not stayed in this room the night before but had rented another. The three of them were accustomed to gathering together, however, so after returning from outside they had not gone back to their own room. Instead, they had come straight to Jenny’s room—and happened to catch Long Fei and Jenny in an intimate embrace.
Jenny did not care in the least, but Long Fei felt awkward. He was tempted to satisfy this voluptuous and sensual foreign beauty, yet his stomach began protesting at precisely the wrong moment. He could only abandon the enticing thought and practically force himself to pull his mouth away. Seeing the disappointment in Jenny’s eyes, Long Fei cupped her forehead and kissed it lightly.
“My darling, I don’t want to make love to you on an empty stomach. If you want me to satisfy you, you’ll have to help me fill my stomach first. Don’t you agree?”
“My darling, do you know that I barely slept at all last night? I was waiting here for you from early this morning. I’m madly in love with you. Oh, no—I don’t think I can bear to be away from you even for a moment now. What am I going to do?”
Jenny’s smile was utterly captivating. She slipped a hand beneath Long Fei’s T-shirt, pinched one of his right nipples between two fingers, and rubbed it lightly. Long Fei shuddered with sudden excitement.
What a temptress. What a woman.
“All right. How about coming downstairs with me to eat?” Long Fei pulled her hand from beneath his shirt and put an arm around her as they headed toward the elevator. His other hand, however, began misbehaving on her buttocks.
After ordering their food, they called Jack and Sid down as well. While they ate, Long Fei asked with a smile, “Sid, I heard your employer this time was rather unusual?”
Sid shrugged. “Yes. Unfortunately, the mission ended in complete failure. I’m sorry.”
Jack shook his head beside him. The two men clearly looked dejected. Among all the assignments they had accepted through Poison Rose, this was their only failure—and that single failure would cause them to drop several places on the assassins’ rankings.
“Actually, you didn’t have to accept the job, no matter who wanted to hire you, did you?” Long Fei said with a faint smile.
Sid spread his hands. “You’ll have to ask Jenny about that. We only follow her around and help with the killing. She handles all those matters, and we never ask questions.”
“Oh, darling, you know I never cared much for Asia before. But after meeting you, I’ve slowly begun to fall in love with the East. I’ve even dreamed of coming here to stay with you. You understand—I only wanted to see you, so I accepted this assignment. And as for failing, it doesn’t matter. I’ve already earned more than enough money. At worst, when I marry you in the future, I’ll have a smaller dowry. By the way, in your country, isn’t it customary for a girl to bring a dowry when she marries?”
Jenny hurriedly explained herself.
Long Fei deliberately smiled. “You’re right, but I’m not planning to marry you yet. Besides, you know I have more than one woman, while the laws of our country allow a man to marry only one wife. What are we going to do?”
Jenny suddenly kissed him on the face, entirely unconcerned with his reaction, and laughed.
“My dear Long, I know. I understand. You have many women. I know that. But—but—but I truly don’t care, you know? As long as I can be with a man like you, I wouldn’t mind being only your lover. You have no idea how wonderful you are in bed—”
After clearing his throat twice, Long Fei interrupted her awkwardly. “Jenny, are you saying you only want to sleep with me?”
“That’s right. I really do love sleeping with you. It feels absolutely incredible!” Jenny nodded, smiling as she blinked at him. She even licked her lips.
That simple gesture caused a faint reaction in Long Fei’s body. Good heavens, this woman was dangerously seductive. Not only was she voluptuous and sensual, but every movement she made radiated endless allure.
“But you know that according to our traditions, a woman is supposed to sleep only with her husband. If you’re with me, wouldn’t that mean you could sleep only with me? I won’t tolerate my woman betraying me and putting a cuckold’s hat on my head! Even if you were only my lover, it would still be unacceptable. I’d be humiliated to death!”
Long Fei blinked. The customs and traditions of two different countries could be very different, so he felt compelled to warn her.
Jenny spread her hands as though she had just heard the most ridiculous joke in the world.
“My dear Long, what are you talking about? Do you suspect that I would sleep with another man behind your back? Jack? Or Sid? Oh, forget it. Other than you, there isn’t a man in this world I could ever love, and I would never let another man touch me. Do you understand? In the past, many men tried to touch me, and I killed every one of them—horribly. Men are filthy creatures. Of course, my darling Long is the exception!”
Long Fei knew Jenny well in this regard. When men harbored improper designs on her, she would feed them a powerful aphrodisiac, torture them until they were completely helpless, and then castrate them. It was undeniably a cruel way to die.
