Chapter 126: The Woman of the Azure Dragon

Francis chuckled, “Uchida, don’t try to fool us. We have solid intelligence proving that thing is in your hands, or else the people from China wouldn’t have come to cause you trouble!”

“You mean that kid just now? Oh heavens, he was only putting on a show for you. Otherwise, why would he have quit?” Ichiro Uchida retorted.

“The reason is simple—he won so much money from you, he knows he can’t beat us, and he wants to keep his life to chase women. If I could befriend the Dragon Lady, I wouldn’t want to die either, so naturally, I’d quit!” The American licked his lips.

Ichiro Uchida frowned, “But we really don’t have that disk anymore. What else could I possibly hand over to you?”

“Are you saying you don’t want to hand it over?” John Paul’s expression shifted slightly.

“It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s that I simply can’t,” Ichiro said angrily.

John Paul suddenly laughed, leapt from his seat, and declared, “You’re asking for death, don’t blame me!”

To be honest, although Long Fei had won a huge sum, he was already feeling frustrated the moment he arrived at the Seaside Grand Hotel. He felt this trip to Japan hadn’t caused enough chaos. Killing three ninjas and dozens of Black Dragon Society elites was far less than he had imagined before coming. He had intended to emulate the legend of the nameless monk, but the conflict between the Iga and Koga clans forced him to change plans on the fly. Regardless, it seemed he had been far too lenient on the Black Dragon Society.

Long Fei regretted not having slaughtered everyone on the sixth floor. He doubted even Ichiro Uchida could have resisted him then.

Returning to the hotel with five people, Jenny and the Dragon Lady’s beauty immediately stunned the male waitstaff. Some recognized Jenny, but none had ever seen the Dragon Lady before. Her ethereal, celestial aura was unlike anything they had encountered. Every one of them looked at Long Fei with mixed emotions—envy, jealousy, and awe.

Seeing Long Fei’s sour mood, Jenny wanted to keep him company, but he declined. Back in his room with the Dragon Lady, he collapsed onto the sofa and began to complain, “Damn the Black Dragon Society. This is way too easy on them.”

The Dragon Lady sat beside him. Though two years younger, she carried herself with the maturity of an elder sister. Gently turning Long Fei’s face to hers, she smiled softly and pressed a light kiss to his lips. “What? You want to wipe out the Black Dragon Society entirely?”

Feeling the warmth and care from her, Long Fei’s anger eased considerably. He teased, “Wiping them out wouldn’t be impossible, but even if I killed Ichiro Uchida, tomorrow another Uchida—two or three—would just appear. The Black Dragon Society commands tens of thousands in Japan. I can’t possibly kill them all!”

“You seem wiser than I thought. Indeed, the Black Dragon Society’s fate is not yet sealed. Even if it were, another gang would rise in its place. This is an inevitable historical cycle. Such gangs are a natural phenomenon; they can never be fundamentally eradicated. It simply aligns with the current societal trends,” the Dragon Lady mused.

“But just letting Ichiro Uchida go doesn’t sit right with me!” Long Fei pouted like a child, shamelessly resting his entire body in the Dragon Lady’s arms, his head nestled between her soft curves, pleasantly shifting his neck against her.

A hint of spring shimmered in the Dragon Lady’s eyes. Smiling, she said, “Don’t worry. Though the Black Dragon Society’s fate isn’t sealed, Ichiro Uchida won’t live past tonight. Besides, sometimes you don’t have to eliminate what you dislike. The best strategy is to learn to use it, turning threats into advantages. That’s far easier than slaying them all.”

This stirred something in Long Fei. He smiled, “I know, you’re making a prediction again, and I believe you. Since you say so, Ichiro Uchida surely won’t survive tonight. But tonight, we have something very important to do.”

The Dragon Lady sensed Long Fei’s intentions but couldn’t refuse him. Curious, she asked, “What important matter?”

“Well, you said my future will be full of hardships. I feel weak right now, so I plan to expand my forces. Will you help me?” Long Fei asked earnestly.

The Dragon Lady smiled, “You’re already strong enough—with me, Phoenix, and Taoist Songhe on your side. What more do you want? Although your future is tough, rest assured, you’re destined for great fortune. Nothing will truly harm you. Besides, I won’t allow it.”

“But I still think my forces are too weak. Will you help or not?” Long Fei grinned.

“You tell me,” she replied, refusing to answer directly.

Long Fei became serious again, “Look, you’re powerful, and I’m no slouch. If we could create more little Long Feis and little Dragon Ladies, in ten or so years, our strength would be formidable. That’s not too much to ask, is it?”

Hearing this, the Dragon Lady laughed first, somewhat shamelessly. Her cheeks flushed slightly, but she still smiled and met Long Fei’s gaze without avoiding it. “It’s not that I don’t want to help, even if I did, you couldn’t possibly realize that plan now.”

Long Fei’s face darkened instantly. “You mean… I have a problem down there?”

“See, you’re anxious again. Of course you don’t have a problem. But before you master the Dragon Yang Divine Skill, you won’t be able to father my child. And let me tell you, do you know why people call me the Dragon Lady?” She no longer smiled, sighing deeply.

Relieved to hear he was fine, Long Fei asked curiously, “How would I know why they call you that?”

“Because of you!” The Dragon Lady’s answer stunned him.

“What does that have to do with me? You’re in India and I’m in China. If we hadn’t met by chance, our lives might never have crossed!” Long Fei was puzzled.

The Dragon Lady shook her head, smiling, “Long Fei, some things are destined, whether you want them or not. Some people meeting in this life was already determined in the previous one.”

Long Fei frowned, “You mean it’s fate that we met and that we’re meant to be husband and wife?”

She nodded, smiling, “Yes. Even if you hadn’t come to India, we would have met somewhere else. And if we never met, I would come find you.”

“Why?” Long Fei was puzzled. This seemed tied again to prophecy. It seemed Songhe knew, Abe Hiroaki knew, the Dragon Lady knew, and even that person from Qingzang knew—but he did not.

“Didn’t you guess? Because of that prophecy, because you are the Azure Dragon! And the reason I’m called the Dragon Lady is because of you, the Azure Dragon. I can’t explain this to you now, but just remember: the Dragon Lady belongs to the Azure Dragon. No one else in this world can have my body or heart but the Azure Dragon. When we’re together, don’t you feel a sense of déjà vu? That’s the power of destiny controlling everything,” the Dragon Lady said solemnly.

Long Fei cursed harshly, “Nonsense! Another damn prophecy! Can you just tell me about it?”

The Dragon Lady apologized, “I’m sorry, I can’t. We shouldn’t have met so soon. I was too eager. Everything should follow the will of heaven. I wanted to meet you earlier to help you, but my appearance stirred many outsiders, making your future path even harder. I’m sorry.”

“Forget it, harder is harder. Besides, I have you to help me!” Seeing her remorse, Long Fei softened. As the Dragon Lady said, she truly wanted to help him. Even if her early arrival made his future tougher, he would choose to meet her sooner without hesitation.

The Dragon Lady nodded and smiled gently, as if a weight had lifted from her heart. “Don’t worry. No matter how hard the future is, I will walk it with you. If there is a next life, if you are the Azure Dragon, I will still be the Dragon Lady.”

Moved, Long Fei lifted himself and embraced her, his hands resting on her proud bosom. Inspired, he said, “Then, my Dragon Lady wife, I believe I am the Azure Dragon you spoke of. Does an Azure Dragon appear only from time to time?”

The Dragon Lady, already stirred by his touch, murmured, “In principle, yes. But sometimes it may be hundreds or even thousands of years before one appears.”

“But doesn’t your Hindu tradition always have a Dragon Lady? You said no man can touch the Dragon Lady, so without me, wouldn’t you—” Long Fei was relieved.

She nodded, “Exactly. Without you, I would be lonely forever. But as the Buddha says, causes have effects. True Dragon Ladies don’t appear every generation. People like me, born with the ability to communicate with animals and endowed with prophecy, appear only once every few centuries or millennia. Otherwise, why would so many cultists worship me as their spiritual deity?”

“I know. You’re their god. Ha! But you’re still my woman, right?” Long Fei grinned proudly. Overthrowing the faith of countless Hindu followers was definitely something to boast about.

The Dragon Lady smiled, “Yes, to them, even if I’m not a god, I’m the closest thing to one. But in my heart, I am just your woman.”
