Seeing that the dining table was about to become a battlefield, Liu Yunfei quickly stepped in as an ambassador for peace. "Mom, that’s a postdoctoral fellow. If you don’t want to go out, I can arrange for some bodyguards. They’re foreigners, and I’m worried it might be inconvenient." Liu Yunfei felt he needed to quickly expand his influence domestically; right now, he was fighting alone and had to handle everything himself.

"I don’t want any. I’m a dignified civil servant; I doubt they would dare do anything to me. Besides, my son is about to become the chief instructor for the Huangjiang police—what is there to fear? Would they dare go against the biggest gang in all of China?" Liu Hongbing said nonchalantly.

"It’s better to be cautious. Lin Chong was the chief instructor for 800,000 police officers—was he not important enough? In the end, didn’t he still meet a tragic fate?" Hu Li asked, deeply worried.

"You’re being uneducated again. Besides, that was ancient times; this is a harmonious society."

As they began bickering again, Liu Yunfei shook his head. Perhaps this was just their way of strengthening their marital bond. He stood up and said, "It’s getting late. Xiaoli and I are heading to school. Sun Xiaogang, just stay here and help Mom out today."

Zhang Xiaoli had been silently eating her congee. She couldn't get a word in, but she felt a sense of warmth in her heart. This was the kind of family she longed for. Even though they were bickering, one could still feel the mutual care between them. How wonderful it would be if she could truly become a part of his family.

At her own home, every meal was filled with talk of how some neighbor's daughter had snagged a rich man while she was useless, or complaints about how much money they saved by buying spoiled pork. Her parents would bicker about her mother flirting with other men or her father stealing money from the house to gamble. Every time she heard these things, Zhang Xiaoli felt a sense of sorrow for being born into such a family.

"What’s wrong? Are you preoccupied?" Liu Yunfei asked while driving. He rarely kept the roof down anymore; only after getting this car did he realize why Chinese people didn't like convertibles—the roads were simply too dusty, and things like plastic bags and scrap paper were always flying into the car.

"I didn't bring anything except my schoolbag; I don't even have a change of clothes. I need to find time to go back and get some." She had been wearing these same clothes for days, and after yesterday’s events—sitting on the ground, sweating, and crying—she felt she couldn't stand not being able to shower and change.

"Don't go back. I’m not at ease with you going home. Really, I’ll take you to buy some outer clothes and undergarments at noon; we'll get everything new." As he mentioned undergarments, Liu Yunfei couldn't help but glance at Zhang Xiaoli’s full chest. He didn't realize she was looking at him, and when he was caught red-handed, he blushed and quickly explained, "I was just checking the size."

"Oh? How big is it?" Zhang Xiaoli blurted out, then immediately blushed.

"I don't know, I didn't see clearly," Liu Yunfei answered honestly.

*What a fool,* Zhang Xiaoli thought. *If you didn't see clearly, you could have looked again.*

"Damn, another traffic jam. I really should have just ridden a bicycle." Liu Yunfei realized too late; he had been weaving through traffic, but now he was stuck in a long line of cars.

Seeing the endless line of vehicles that hadn't moved for a long time, Liu Yunfei had to call Teacher Zhu to ask for a leave of absence. Since Teacher Zhu had "eaten his food and taken his handouts," he was lenient, simply reminding him to drive carefully.

There was once a brain teaser that asked what the longest vehicle in the world was. The answer, of course, was a traffic jam—there is no longest, only longer. The waiting time was equally agonizing, and boring waits are the hardest to endure. If four people were in a car, they could play a few rounds of cards and bet some pocket money; if there were three, they could engage in a dramatic love triangle; if two, they could smoke, chat, or have a fight; if alone, one could only call friends and chat on the phone—though, of course, a sudden urge to use the bathroom would be the hardest to solve.

If it were a man and a woman in the car—and they were lovers or sweethearts—what they might do was anyone's guess. A little kissing and touching was the best choice. Of course, that wasn't necessarily the case for Liu Yunfei and Zhang Xiaoli, but in the car next to them, it was.

Initially, the woman had only intended to share a kiss, but as the wait dragged on, things grew passionate. Although they didn't dare go all the way, the man was too impulsive and pulled open the woman's clothes, exposing her charms. Since the Porsche was parked to their left, Liu Yunfei and Zhang Xiaoli had a full view of the woman’s plump, fair breasts being squeezed and deformed in the man's hands.

Liu Yunfei felt his mouth go dry and couldn't stop swallowing. Zhang Xiaoli only took a few glances before she didn't dare look anymore, feeling her heart race and her body go limp.

"Xiaoli, we... since we're just sitting here anyway," Liu Yunfei suggested, unable to hold back.

Having not even lost her first kiss yet, how could Zhang Xiaoli be comfortable getting intimate here? Although he was the man she loved to death, a girl's inherent shyness made it difficult to accept such a thing.

Before Zhang Xiaoli could answer, Liu Yunfei impatiently unbuckled his seatbelt, leaned over, and took her small, delicate hand, rubbing it against his face. He then leaned in, pursing his lips to kiss her. Zhang Xiaoli blushed and dodged, shrinking back until she was pressed against the car door.

"If you don't want to, forget it," Liu Yunfei said, a bit disappointed.

Seeing her beloved disappointed, Zhang Xiaoli quickly said, "It's not that. Just... only kissing, not *that*..."

"Not what?" Liu Yunfei teased with a mischievous grin.

"You know what," she said, pointing a small finger out the window.

Liu Yunfei grabbed her hand again, pressed it to his face, and took her slender, onion-like finger into his mouth, sucking on it gently while looking at her with deep affection.

Zhang Xiaoli hadn't expected the sensation of her finger being sucked to be so intense; her whole body went soft, and she couldn't muster any strength. Caught in Liu Yunfei’s deep gaze, her vision blurred as if she were slightly intoxicated. She lost herself completely, drowning in the love and desire filling the car. Closing her eyes, she leaned forward. Liu Yunfei pressed his lips against hers, barely touching her soft, cherry-red mouth, and she could feel his heavy, warm breath.

"Xiaoli," Liu Yunfei whispered.

"Hmm," she hummed, as if returning to the beautiful dream of a lonely night. She didn't open her eyes, afraid that doing so would bring her back to those cold, dark nights.

"I love you."

He said he loved her! He said he loved her! Zhang Xiaoli heard a joyful voice crying out. Then, she felt those hot, moist lips press against her own. Was this her long-delayed first kiss? It made her heart race and her senses reel. How many years had she waited for this? How many times had this scene appeared in her dreams? Today, it had finally come true. She had waited too long, suffered too much, and tears of happiness burst from her eyes like a dam breaking.

Liu Yunfei immediately felt her tears. He stopped moving, gently wiped them away with his fingers, and asked softly, "Why are you crying again? If you don't like it, we won't kiss. As long as you're with me, I won't let you suffer or shed any more tears."

"It's not that. I'm happy. You idiot, can't you see I'm smiling?" Zhang Xiaoli didn't cry easily, but once she started, she couldn't stop. Liu Yunfei knew she had endured too much grievance, too much repression, and too much pain.

Liu Yunfei pressed his lips to hers again. Zhang Xiaoli responded clumsily. Her lips were soft, and there was a hint of sweetness in his mouth. Liu Yunfei gently nudged her teeth apart, and her nimble little tongue reached out to meet his. Liu Yunfei’s large tongue immediately wrapped around it tightly. It felt as if every sensory organ in their bodies was concentrated on the tips of their tongues.

Liu Yunfei suddenly felt her tears on his face again. Just as he was about to stop and wipe them, Zhang Xiaoli sensed his intention and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, refusing to let him go.

Laughing and crying, she kissed him back, a bit frantically, with happiness flooding every corner of her being. She wanted to use her own lips to tell this man she loved all about this happiness. At this moment, she had forgotten they were in a car, on the road, and had forgotten everyone around them. Even if the sky fell, she wouldn't care; even if her life ended right now, she would have no regrets. People say men possess the world to get the woman, and women possess the man to get the world. At this moment, she had the whole world. *Haha, I’ll wake up laughing even in my dreams.*

While Zhang Xiaoli was being proactive, Liu Yunfei hadn't been idle—he had been holding her hand, guiding her to do something naughty. When she suddenly laughed out loud, he was startled, and his aroused member immediately shriveled. After Zhang Xiaoli calmed down, she suddenly realized her clothes were wide open, her bra was pushed up to her neck, and her hand was clutching something hot and throbbing between Liu Yunfei’s legs. Looking down, she thought, *How ugly.*

She quickly pulled her hand back and glared at him. "Pervert."

Liu Yunfei wasn't in a rush; he zipped up and teased, "You've been holding it for ages; you’re the pervert."

Zhang Xiaoli took a deep breath, adjusted her breathing, and straightened her clothes. She glanced sideways at Liu Yunfei’s "ugly thing" again. "It’s dirty and ugly; I’m not holding it anymore. Hurry up and zip up—there are people outside."

"I’m not zipping it. You took it out, so you're responsible for putting it back," Liu Yunfei said, noticing the cars ahead starting to move, so he started the engine and tapped the gas pedal.

Zhang Xiaoli had already straightened her clothes. Seeing he was about to drive and that two policewomen were walking toward them, she hastily leaned over and pressed her hand against his "ugly thing." To her surprise, it immediately stood tall, pushing hard against her small palm. She couldn't even ask why, just kept her hand pressed down and looked out the window, like a thief who had just committed a crime.

The two policewomen hadn't initially paid attention to the car, but seeing Zhang Xiaoli’s nervous expression, they grew suspicious. They weren't traffic police but interns from the police academy who hadn't graduated yet and were helping out because the traffic was so heavy.

After three years of training at the academy, they had some professional intuition. Zhang Xiaoli’s exaggerated expression made the two young policewomen suspicious, and they immediately became alert.
