Chapter 135: The Turning Wheel of Fate

Youthful recklessness quickly calculated and responded: "There are about a thousand people. Although that’s not a large number, we definitely can’t handle it right now. We don’t have a single warrior left in reserve!"
Murong Shanshan lightly furrowed her delicate brows, clearly perplexed. After a moment’s thought, she said, “Aren’t there still 3,000 members in the city? Grant me guild speaking rights; I’ll take command!”
Because the guild was so large and to prevent message spam, currently only Murong Shanshan and a few squad leaders had the right to speak in the guild channel. I was just an ordinary member, and speaking required special approval.
Murong Shanshan then adjusted my status, and I immediately received the system prompt. Time was urgent, so I quickly announced in the channel: “I have bad news— we’re trapped in the valley with the possibility of total annihilation at any moment. Friends in Silver Moon, please gather immediately on the open ground outside the East Gate station! Whether we can defend the honor of the ‘Sword and Rose’ legion depends on this battle! I will appoint someone to temporarily lead this makeshift squad. Please cooperate with their commands!”
We selected a level 38 knight from the city players named “Sun Never Sets.” He was a schoolmate of Murong Shanshan’s from the mathematics department and seemed reliable. There aren’t many players at such a high level yet, so he should be effective.
I quickly added “Sun Never Sets” as a friend and promoted him to squad leader. He wasted no time and began gathering members outside the city.
With the city situation settled, the immediate priority was how to hold out until reinforcements arrived. I glanced at the “Flirtatious World” squad ahead; they were nearly on the brink of collapse. If no one came to attack from behind, we could break their line within minutes.
I gently tapped Murong Shanshan’s shoulder and said, “I’m taking people to protect our rear. I’ll lead the first squad away. Can you hold the line here?”
Murong Shanshan smiled with pursed lips: “If you can, why can’t I?”
“Alright, it’s settled then!”
I swiftly swung out an Ice Seal Slash to freeze the opposing warrior, then drew my sword and retreated while typing in the guild chat: “Youthful Recklessness, lead the entire first squad to withdraw from the front and follow me to block the city troops at the rear. Once our reinforcements have gathered, we’ll launch a pincer attack!”
“Understood!”
Youthful Recklessness responded decisively. The nearly 800 members of the first squad immediately pulled back from the frontline, leaving less than 600 under Murong Shanshan’s command. That was still enough to hold the remaining forces of Flirtatious World, especially since Murong Shanshan’s sword aura alone was enough to intimidate their troops from advancing.

Nearly 200 warriors and knights, under my leadership, formed an iron chain that relentlessly cut down the hostile forces intruding on our rear. Two hundred people barely managed to create a defensive line—not very strong, but Youthful Recklessness’s ranged troops provided constant support and counterattacks, balancing the battle for the time being.
Players on both sides kept falling. Our side’s players generally had better discipline, but after such a prolonged fight, everyone was exhausted. Some ill-prepared players had almost run out of potions.
Minutes later, enemy numbers continued to swell. Their fallen quickly rushed out from the city to rejoin the fight!
Youthful Recklessness grit his teeth and said, “Brother Cabbage, this won’t do! Our people keep dying, but theirs just keep coming. I estimate there are already over 2,000 of them in front of us! At this rate, we’re doomed to be wiped out!”
“Soon, our reinforcements will be gathered!” I replied, trying to reassure both him and myself. “We’ll definitely beat Flirtatious World. They’re nothing!”
I sent a message to “Sun Never Sets” asking about the gathering situation: “How many people are assembled now? Things here are looking grim.”
“Only about 1,500 so far. Many players are out leveling, and others simply refuse to participate in PvP—we can’t force anyone,” he replied.
That was true. Not everyone shared our eagerness for battle. I told Sun Never Sets, “That’s enough. Wait five more minutes, then charge from the rear. We’ll trap them in a pincer movement!”
“Got it!” he replied excitedly.
I then addressed the guild channel: “Anyone leveling in Silver Moon Valley, please gather at the valley exit. In five minutes, launch an attack on Flirtatious World’s inner troops. This will greatly aid Murong Shanshan’s side.”
I deliberately mentioned Murong Shanshan’s name. Sure enough, soon many messaged me that they were gathering at the valley exit.

A quick tally showed over 300 players leveling in Silver Moon Valley, with more than 100 able to arrive within five minutes, enough to form a considerable strike force.
Time ticked by slowly—I never imagined five minutes could feel so long. Flirtatious World and their berserk allies were determined to annihilate our guild in this valley. Their encirclement tightened and their assault grew fiercer.
“Damn it, these beasts fight like they’re possessed!” Youthful Recklessness cursed, standing behind me. He claimed it was to protect me, but he was likely thinking his own defense was safest here.
“Swish, swish!” Two crisp sounds rang out as two of our warriors were instantly taken down by several rogues. Our shaky defense finally cracked, and the enemy surged through!
“Not good!” I shouted, immediately pulling Youthful Recklessness behind me to plug the gap. Then I charged toward the breach. Most of our warriors had fallen; it was time for the mages to fill the void.
Ignoring Youthful Recklessness’s shouts, I slashed down the rogues before me and held the breach. It was a desperate measure. Our warriors kept falling one after another—our line was on the verge of collapse!
At this critical moment, the sound of fierce fighting erupted from the enemy’s rear!
“Haha, our people have finally—” Youthful Recklessness started to say, but a swordsman cut him off mid-sentence, forcing him into a panicked retreat.
