The fate of this life is sealed; the promise once made shall never change.

In the next heartbeat, Nvluo fell into the embrace that had long since been altered for her sake. Her heart had never felt so close, their breaths mingling, a silent stillness that served as a communion of their very souls.

After a long while, they looked at each other and smiled, rising in unison to smooth their slightly wrinkled garments before leaving the spot.

Stepping back into the temple, Nvluo cast her gaze over the familiar halls, finally fixing her eyes on the mysterious entrance known only to her and Litian. It felt as if a lifetime had passed.

When she had resolved to reveal the secret in her heart to Litian, it was simply because she did not want to leave any regrets.

Her body, still unhealed, and the periods of dormancy that could strike at any moment—she did not want to think about what would happen if both were to plague her at once, nor could she bear to. If she were to fall into an eternal slumber, she wished for Litian to see the human realm as she had once dreamed it to be; this had always been her deepest desire.

"What are you thinking about?" Litian followed her gaze toward that mysterious entrance.

"I was just wondering, if I really were to fall into an eternal sleep, what would you do?"

"That possibility will never come to pass." Litian’s expression darkened. Even now, the memory of that moment filled him with lingering fear. If Nvluo were to truly drift into such a sleep, he would make her wake, no matter the cost—at any price!

"Don't worry, aren't we safe and sound now?" Nvluo understood Litian’s anxiety all too well. Perhaps ever since he met her, the trajectory of his destiny had taken such a strange turn; the once proud Underworld Lord, who looked down upon all, now found himself plagued by uncertainty because of her.

"Though, come to think of it, if I really had fallen into an eternal sleep, staying inside might have been a good choice. I did go in with that very intention, you know!"

"Indeed. To lead me into a world full of life, only to let me watch you collapse, fall into darkness, and perhaps sleep forever! That would certainly be quite the plan!" Litian’s voice was cold.

"You really are angry!" Litian’s emotions shifted only for her.

"Nvluo! From now on, whatever you do, remember that you are never alone. I am always by your side! Because of that, I will never let you sleep forever; the darkness does not belong to you!" Litian spoke every word with deliberate weight. It was his promise and the deepest cry of his heart. "If one day I were in danger, would you simply look on and remain indifferent?"

Nvluo shook her head immediately. If a crisis ever befell Litian that she could not resolve, even if she could not change the ultimate outcome, she would at least give everything she had for him.

"I do not believe we will always be on the edge of a crisis we cannot escape," Nvluo gazed at Litian. "Since I have awakened, it means the most dangerous moment has passed. As for who could possibly harm you, I cannot even imagine it." She spoke the truth; to harm Litian, what earth-shattering power would one need to possess?

"Before I met you, I truly did not believe such power could exist, but now I have discovered that even I can be wounded! Nvluo, do you truly know my heart?" Litian thought to himself. "Only you can stir my thoughts and emotions; to harm you is to harm me!"

Nvluo gripped Litian’s hand tightly, holding his somewhat cold fingers. How could she not understand his heart? The price Litian had paid to heal her, the wounds he now carried, were all because of her!

A selfless devotion with no expectation of return, all for her safety—if she did not recognize such feelings, she would be the greatest fool in the world.

Nvluo felt a pang of regret for her earlier words. When she brought up the topic, she had already let go of everything, yet she had overlooked Litian’s feelings. Thinking about it now, if their positions were reversed, how could she bear it?

Nvluo looked at Litian with an apologetic gaze; she would never speak such words again.

They fell into a long silence, their locked gazes communicating the words of their hearts.

A thought suddenly surfaced in Nvluo’s mind. Although she had awakened from her dormancy, her body had not fully recovered, and Litian had expended too much of his power for her sake. They both needed time to recuperate. This place was the perfect sanctuary for healing, but if they were to use it, some changes were necessary.

"Litian, do you need to return to the Underworld anytime soon?"

"No!" Litian was puzzled as to why she would suddenly bring this up. Although he hadn't been back to the Underworld in a long time, it did not need him now. In fact, he rarely participated in its daily operations, having long since arranged for everything to be handled.

Receiving his affirmation, Nvluo smiled and revealed her plan. Litian looked at her with surprise, but in the end, he agreed to her decision.

The first temple Nvluo had built was now given a new mission.

Under Litian’s deeply disapproving gaze, Nvluo began to gather her strength. It was the first time she had used her ice spirit power under such conditions.

Outside the temple, Nvluo stood between heaven and earth, her ten fingers dancing. Crystal-clear snowflakes appeared in the air, swirling across the sky. The falling snow radiated a dreamlike, iridescent glow, dazzling and magnificent.

As her fingers continued to weave, the falling snow threatened to dye the entire temple in a holy, pristine white.

"Nvluo, do not push yourself; you haven't recovered yet!" Litian watched her anxiously. He did not approve of her plan, yet he looked forward to the beautiful result.

What kind of shock would it bring him, should this place turn into a world of ice and snow?

Perhaps it was all predestined. If not for the disaster in the human realm, Nvluo would never have gone to Sunset Mountain, nor would she have gone to the Underworld in search of the Netherfire. They would never have had the chance to meet. They were, in a sense, brought together by ice and snow. And now, Nvluo was using her own ice spirit power to turn this place into a city of ice.

Most importantly, once this became a city of ice and snow, all their auras would be masked by the power of the frost, and all their tracks would be covered. They would not be easily disturbed and could heal in peace.

There was one more thing: even if Nvluo hadn't mentioned it, Litian had already guessed her underlying intention. Although they had forgotten their respective identities for now, they could not ignore them forever.

Litian did not mind this, but he had to consider Nvluo. Once their relationship was known, it would cause an uproar! How would the Divine Realm let such an opportunity pass? If there were a secret place that belonged only to them, Litian would be more than happy to have it.

The snow fell heavier and heavier, slowly covering everything. Although Nvluo’s injuries hampered her ice spirit power, she struggled to maintain control. She was going to change everything here.

The world that appeared within the temple was her original dream; she was realizing it step by step, and what she did now would completely alter the trajectory of her fate.

The swirling snowflakes began to congeal, forming the shape Nvluo had hoped for.

Litian watched her with a heartache; the prototype of the Ice City had emerged, but Nvluo had exhausted too much of her strength! He wanted to help her, but he did not possess the power to command ice, so he could only wait in anxiety.

Nvluo’s breathing grew heavy; consuming such immense power to build the Ice City was difficult to endure, but the thought of the impact it would have gave her strength. She looked at Litian, who was waiting anxiously by her side, and her heart filled with relief. He understood the hidden purpose behind her building the Ice City, yet he accepted her arrangement.

Litian had already done everything he could for her, and what she was doing now was to secure a time that would not be disturbed. Even though Leiling had sworn never to step foot in the human realm again, no one could predict what crazy actions she might take if she ever discovered the connection between her and Litian! Nvluo wanted to eliminate all hidden dangers, or at least keep everything concealed until they were fully recovered.

Furthermore, in her heart, Nvluo also hoped to hide the temple, which held her infinite memories, in a place only they could find.

So, she would hide everything beneath the ice and snow, casting the most powerful barrier possible.

The Ice City was finally built!

Nvluo let her hands fall weakly, collapsing into Litian’s embrace. Though exhausted, she was filled with satisfaction. Everything before her was as unreal as a dream, shrouded in sacred white. Looking up, the sky seemed hazy; an invisible barrier blocked the sun, so that even looking in from the outside, one could only see a phantom of ice and snow.

Litian gently picked up Nvluo and walked toward the now-covered temple. After their figures disappeared, only a final trace of white remained in the world. All traces had been erased, leaving behind nothing but a vast, snowy expanse.

This was a place only Nvluo and Litian could find. A place that belonged only to them.

The interior of the temple remained unchanged. Litian gently laid Nvluo on the couch.

Though her face was pale, she could not hide her smile. Her efforts had not been in vain, had they?

The barrier she had cast could only be broken by her, and only she and Litian could enter. This place had once held the memories of her first arrival in the human realm, and now it would record the new turning point of her destiny.

"I told you not to push yourself, but you wouldn't listen! Now you see the consequences!" Litian scolded her while channeling his power into her body.

Nvluo reaffirmed her decision. The power Litian had consumed exceeded her expectations, but now that they were here to heal, they no longer needed to worry about anything!

"Litian, give this place a name."

"Snow Domain!" Everywhere one looked, there was only sacred white snow.

"Good!"

This was the Snow Domain City that belonged only to them! It would bear witness to the most beautiful time in their long lives!

Their eyes met once more, their fingers intertwined, forgetting their identities, casting aside everything, existing only for this moment of companionship.

No regrets in this life!
