Chapter 91: Tormenting the Enemy a Thousand Times Over
The burly black man saw the chopsticks stab towards him, his shoulder jolted, and his club moved like lightning, blocking the chopsticks just in time.
“Thunk!” The chopsticks pierced the club, embedding half an inch deep.
Qin Qiong’s wrist trembled lightly; he used the chopsticks to chip away at the club, breaking off a thumb-sized wood chip, which scattered to the floor.
“Clack!” The wood chip skittered across the floor, rolling a few times before coming to rest.
Qin Qiong sighed inwardly—his strength was insufficient; he failed to embed the chip into the floor. Had Luo Shixin been the one, the outcome would have been very different. But if Luo Shixin intervened, this wooden building might be doomed, possibly torn apart.
The burly black man roared furiously, raising his club high and bringing it down fiercely like a cage covering a face.
“Woo!” The club sliced through the air, aimed straight at Qin Qiong’s head.
If this strike connected, his skull would surely shatter on the spot, brain matter splattering everywhere.
Since they were so close, Qin Qiong thrust the chopsticks into empty air, unable to withdraw in time. The club was now just half a foot above his head.
At this perilous moment, Li Dong braced one hand on the table, leapt into the air, and delivered a flying kick aimed directly at the black man’s waist.
The black man, fighting three opponents alone, was prepared; his grip on the club did not weaken. His other hand swept upward and outward, attempting to block Li Dong’s kick.
Unexpectedly, Li Dong’s foot changed direction midair, hooking beneath the black man’s club-wielding arm.
“Ah!” The black man let out a muffled grunt.
Though the club missed Qin Qiong, Li Dong’s foot stopped it midair. The black man’s arm swung wildly as the club slipped from his grasp. His strength was formidable, so being stopped by Li Dong’s kick was agonizing; his arm recoiled sharply.
Simultaneously, Qin Qiong crouched low, narrowly evading the lethal blow.
At last, Li Dong made his move—more precisely, his kick.
The burly man in the corner, who had been drinking quietly, finally set down his cup and stared intently at Li Dong’s footwork, admiration shining in his eyes. To leap and strike with such power and control, the waist strength required was extraordinary. Yet Li Dong had done it—unexpectedly and impressively.
The black man, nursing his aching arm, retreated three steps, eyes blazing with fury. “Using numbers to bully the few—that’s no act of a true hero!”
Luo Shixin grumbled, “Hey! We were fine here. You came to cause trouble first, okay? Who’s bullying who?”
“Bullying you, so what!” Li Dong retracted his legs, planted firmly, rising from a squat. His body surged like a tide, his right arm concealed, while his left lunged at the black man without giving him a moment to react.
The black man shouted, “Bring it on!” Tilting his left shoulder slightly, he dodged Li Dong’s left punch and fixed his gaze on Li Dong’s still-withdrawn right arm—this was the real move. The left hand’s strength was weaker; it was merely a feint.
Indeed, Li Dong’s left hand struck air as his right arm simultaneously launched forward, fingers clenched tightly into a fist, closing in on the black man’s throat.
The throat is soft flesh with many cartilages, a vital passage for breathing and swallowing; the major arteries run hidden inside. A strike here could choke the victim into helplessness, leaving them defenseless for days.
Seeing Li Dong’s ruthless move, the black man knew danger and stepped aside just in time. Silently, his legs attacked from below, aiming at Li Dong’s groin!
“Hey, that’s not fair! Seriously, that’s not fair!” Luo Shixin, who had been sitting quietly by the table without orders from Qin Qiong or Li Dong, jumped up in anger upon seeing the dirty move.
No matter man or woman, the groin is where blood, energy, and nerves converge. Even a light touch causes excruciating pain; a deliberate strike is unbearable.
Luo Shixin remembered how, when herding cattle before, she’d been butted there by a calf and suffered for days, walking with legs apart and earning much ridicule. Now seeing the black man sneakily target her brother Li Dong, she could no longer stand by and rose without hesitation.
Stretching out both arms, she firmly embraced the black man’s thunderous kick. To her, the kick felt like a steamed bun hitting her—more tickling than painful.
Holding onto his leg, she heaved forcefully upward. The leg remained trapped in her grasp, unable to retreat.
The black man weighed just over a hundred pounds—how could he withstand Luo Shixin’s natural strength?
“Bam!” His forehead collided with the wooden floor above, leaving a large dark hole shaped like a head.
“Crash!” Luo Shixin slammed him onto the floor again, creating a big dent. The wood splintered, chips flying everywhere.
Luo Shixin tossed and swung the black man like a chicken, whipping him around playfully. Her arms moved widely and powerfully, fierce as a wrathful deity, devastating everything in her path.
Poor black man couldn’t break free from her embrace. When his body hit the wooden planks, he clenched his teeth and braced himself, trying to minimize the injury.
“Bang bang bang bang!”
Within moments, Luo Shixin had battered the black man until blood flowed freely from his mouth and nose. He was near death, gasping only exhales, no breath left for inhales.
Qin Qiong hurriedly shouted, “Third brother, spare his life!”
Li Dong also urged, “Don’t kill him. Leave him alive so we can ask who sent him!”
The burly man in the corner, having witnessed Luo Shixin’s formidable strength, had initially been ready to intervene, surprised by her invincibility. But hearing Qin Qiong and Li Dong’s words, he relaxed and resumed watching quietly.
Luo Shixin heard the call and finally stopped, dropping the black man like a chicken onto the floor. “You’re lucky this time!”
The floor was stained red with the black man’s blood, indicating severe injury.
Yet after lying on the floor for a while, the black man propped himself up on his arms and struggled to rise. After five or six attempts, he failed and lay back down, chest heaving violently. “I’m done for, I admit it. Do as you please!” Then he fell silent.
Li Dong crouched beside him, inspecting his wounds—mostly superficial, with slow bleeding, showing the man’s strong constitution.
Li Dong asked, “No grudges from afar, no enemies near. Why such stubborn resistance? Speak—who are you, and who sent you? A true hero acts like a true hero; no stammering. Tell us, and we’ll let you go.”
The black man’s eyes remained tightly shut, his face smeared with blood, but his expression was resolute. He ignored Li Dong’s questioning, offering no answer.
Qin Qiong urged, “Don’t be obstinate. If you reveal who sent you, you can leave.”
The black man twisted his grimy face away, refusing to respond even to Qin Qiong.
Li Dong chuckled, stood up, and said to Luo Shixin, “Third brother, do you think this guy still deserves a beating? How about we give him another thrashing? But no killing.”
Luo Shixin shouted, “Alright, alright! I’ll teach him a lesson again and see if he dares play dead!”
Li Dong glanced at the black man, who remained indifferent, seemingly unconcerned for his own life. Li Dong intended only to scare him into confessing who was behind this, not to have Luo Shixin truly harm him further.
But Luo Shixin misunderstood. She leapt forward, grabbed his legs, preparing to torture him again and again.
“Hold on! Listen to me first!” The burly man in the corner finally spoke, suddenly standing and striding quickly toward Li Dong.
