Chapter 125: Blacklisted from Logging In?
Just then, with a sudden thunderous crash, the office door was slammed open! My heart jolted violently, and the map in my hands nearly slipped to the floor. Hastily, I shoved the map back into the drawer and looked up toward the doorway.
I didn’t recognize the men standing there, but their brutish faces told me they had no good intentions.
Three burly men blocked the entrance, their eyes sharp and cold as blades fixed unblinkingly on me. The leader bore a deep scar across his face. His gaze swept the office before settling on me.
“You must be Wang Hu,” he said in a low, thunderous voice, heavy with unquestionable authority.
I nodded. “That’s me. Who are you? What do you want?”
The scarred man sneered and stepped inside, his two henchmen following closely behind. Their heavy footsteps seemed to pound directly on my heart.
“It doesn’t matter who we are,” the scarred man said, his eyes sharpening. “What matters is we came to remind you again—this Bengjian market, the deal you made selling it to Sister Su.”
At the mention of her name, my expression darkened. “Su Li?”
A faint smirk played on the scarred man’s lips, as if he had anticipated my reaction.
He strode to my desk, planted his hands firmly on it, and leaned in close, his gaze threatening.
“Exactly. Sister Su sent us to warn you—time is running out,” he said coldly, his tone brooking no argument.
I took a deep breath, steadying myself. “Su Li is doing well now. She used to come to me personally when she needed something. Now she sends thugs?”
The moment I spoke, the two men behind the scarred man surged forward, ready to attack. But the scarred man roared sharply, halting them.
He fixed me with a disdainful glare, then waved his hand, signaling his men to step back. Straightening, he slowly walked to the window, turning his back to me.
“Wang Hu,” he said in a chilling whisper, “how long do you think you can delay? Sister Su’s patience has limits.”
I clenched my teeth, my mind racing.
Su Li—my own cousin! Now, to make life miserable for me, she’s fully thrown herself behind Big Sister Hong! The way she sabotaged me before is nothing compared to this—she’s only escalated.
She takes after my uncle, through and through.
Now, sending people to threaten me, it’s clear she’s dead set on seizing the Bengjian market.
“I know Sister Su’s patience won’t last,” I said calmly, “but this market isn’t something you can just take at will.”
The scarred man turned, a cold smile curling his lips. “Wang Hu, you refuse to accept reason. Fine. Don’t blame us for being ruthless.”
His words barely fell when his two men stepped forward again, eyes blazing with hostility.
I knew they might attack at any moment.
But I was prepared.
“Wait!” I shouted suddenly, pointing to a cabinet beside the desk. “I have something for Sister Su. Take it to her.”
The scarred man frowned but nodded to his men to check.
One of them hurried over, opened the cabinet, and found a black box inside. Carefully, he retrieved it and handed it up.
The scarred man took the box, eyes flickering with suspicion, though he didn’t open it immediately. Instead, he stared coldly at me.
“What’s this?” he asked impatiently.
I smiled faintly, feigning calm. “It’s a raw jade stone. Since Sister Su wants this market, let her see if she can swallow this stone first.”
His eyes narrowed, then he slowly lifted the lid.
Inside lay a chunk of rough jade, dark as coal, a deep crimson-black.
“You’re more sensible than I thought,” he said, snapping the box shut. “Take this back to Sister Su.”
His two men nodded and followed him toward the door.
Just as they were about to leave, I called out, “Wait.”
The scarred man stopped and turned to glare at me. “What now?”
I took a steadying breath, eyes resolute. “Tell Sister Su this stone is called Tianjie Jade. Don’t open it lightly. If anything happens, I won’t be responsible.”
He snorted disdainfully.
“Wang Hu, stop playing the wise guy. Fine, I’ll relay your message. But I advise you—stop playing tricks, or face the consequences.”
“Sister Su gave you ten days to clear out this market.”
With that, he turned and left, the door slamming shut behind them.
I stood frozen, heart pounding fiercely. Cold sweat had broken out in my palms.
Though I appeared composed, deep inside I was filled with anxiety and unease.
I knew Su Li would not give up this market easily.
And behind her stood Big Sister Hong’s support.
I had to prepare thoroughly to face the coming storm.
But even if Su Li didn’t come, I was ready.
My real adversary was not just a small player like her.
Just that Gao Qiqiang alone...
I knew from the funeral incident last time, he would never let me off so easily.
Watching those thugs leave, I returned to my seat.
I pulled out the map again—the hand-drawn modern map, written in traditional characters. Clearly a relic from a century ago.
Yet many place names matched those I knew. With that knowledge, I could roughly infer the locations marked.
As I concentrated on the map, my phone suddenly rang.
I glanced at the caller ID—an unknown number.
I answered cautiously.
“Hello, Brother Hu?” a low voice asked.
“Yes. Who’s this?” I replied warily.
“I’m Hu San. Be careful recently... you’ve been blacklisted.”
“Blacklisted?”
I froze. The jade industry did have such lists, but I had never done anything unscrupulous since entering.
How could I be on a blacklist?
Frowning, I had a rough idea...
Someone was targeting me again.
Or rather, those people.
