Su Wan stared at the words on the screen for a long time before finally typing a single character: “Okay.”

Just as the message was sent, her secretary called. “President Su, Mr. Wen has arrived.”

Hearing this, Su Wan’s brow immediately furrowed.

To be honest, she really didn’t want to see Wen Shaoran. What he’d said to her yesterday had truly disgusted her.

However, it did seem they needed to have a proper conversation, so Su Wan simply told the secretary to let him in.

Wen Shaoran’s expression was ice-cold as he pulled out a chair and sat down directly across from her. “Su Wan, you really know how to keep your composure!”

Su Wan glanced at him, then took out the ring she’d kept in her drawer and handed it to him. “This is your engagement ring. I’m giving it back to you. As for our situation, I’ll explain everything to my father.”

Wen Shaoran hadn’t expected her to be so decisive. His expression shifted several times before he finally laughed. “Even if you’ve already found someone new, you don’t have to be in such a hurry, do you? You’re breaking off our engagement just because of that little hooligan? Do you really think your father will agree?!”

“That’s my business, not yours, Mr. Wen. You needn’t worry about it.”

“Su Wan! I told you, nothing ever happened between me and that woman! Besides, with your company in its current state, if word gets out that you broke things off with me, what do you think will happen?”

“Even if this company really goes under, I won’t trade my life for it. And my father wouldn’t want me to, either.”

Wen Shaoran’s hands clenched tightly. “Su Wan, must you really do this?”

“The door is right there. See yourself out.”

“Fine, Su Wan. I’ll be watching to see how long your pathetic company lasts without me!” With that, Wen Shaoran turned to leave. Su Wan called out to stop him.

He thought she’d changed her mind and turned back with a sneer, but Su Wan simply pointed at the ring on the desk. “Don’t forget your ring.”

Originally, Su Wan had planned to go herself, but Mu Yunshen insisted on picking her up, saying she might not be able to find the place he’d chosen. With no other choice, Su Wan agreed.

She’d thought “dinner” meant just the two of them, but when she saw the scene before her, she was utterly stunned.

The entire restaurant was packed—five large tables full. As soon as they appeared, everyone greeted them in unison, “Brother Shen, hello, sister-in-law!”

“Sister-in-law?!” Su Wan immediately turned to Mu Yunshen, her expression darkening.

Mu Yunshen just smiled and addressed the others, “Hey, mind your manners. She hasn’t agreed yet. Call her Sister Su.”

“Sister Su!” they all chorused.

Hearing this, it sounded as if she was some sort of supervisor in a particular business. Several of the men looked to be in their thirties—rough, burly types. Su Wan’s face grew even more grim.

Mu Yunshen seemed amused by her reaction and pulled her down to sit beside him. “It’s just a title. Don’t take it to heart.”

“Are you messing with me?” There were others at the table, so Su Wan kept her voice low to save him some face.

Mu Yunshen looked innocent. “Not at all. I said we’d have dinner, and that’s exactly what this is.”

“This…”

“Come, Sister Su, let me toast you,” someone offered.

Su Wan was about to respond, but before she could, Mu Yunshen reached over and took her glass. “She doesn’t drink. Don’t bother her.”

The young woman who’d spoken looked at Su Wan with a complicated expression—it was the same woman who’d helped her out in the private room that night. As Su Wan met her gaze, another voice called out, “Well, isn’t this our Brother Shen?”

At those words, everyone at their table abruptly stood up. Su Wan’s heart skipped a beat before she could react, and Mu Yunshen’s voice came softly by her ear, “Darling, you really are my lucky star.”
