Chapter 46: Perhaps We Will Die Together
Later, Su Wan felt the back of her head collide with something, and she lost consciousness instantly.
When she awoke, she was seized by an overwhelming chill. Glancing around, she saw their car had overturned. Though oil was leaking, it hadn’t exploded. Beside her, Mu Yunshen remained unconscious.
The back of his shirt was soaked in blood, a crimson stain spreading across the fabric, and there was a wound on his head as well.
Su Wan was startled, immediately checking his breathing. He was still breathing, but perhaps because of his injuries, his body temperature was unnaturally high.
She began searching for her phone at once. She remembered Mu Yunshen dragging her out of the bar, her phone left behind inside. Desperate, she searched his pockets, but found nothing.
They were now at the foot of a mountain. Below them lay jagged rocks and the boundless sea; without a rescue team, there was no way out.
Su Wan was on the verge of tears. She shook Mu Yunshen, pleading softly, “Mu Yunshen, wake up! Please, wake up!”
He didn’t stir, but his brows seemed to furrow even deeper.
Su Wan pinched her leg to force herself to calm down. She looked up the slope; if she climbed alone, with luck, she might encounter a passing car.
Resolving herself, she stood and prepared to ascend. Suddenly, a hand seized her wrist.
“You’re awake!” she exclaimed, kneeling to help him sit up.
“This mountain road is deserted. Even if you go up, it’s useless,” his voice was hoarse, lips pale as snow.
“What should we do then?” she asked.
“Perhaps… we’re both destined to die here,” Mu Yunshen smiled faintly as he spoke.
Su Wan didn’t find it funny at all. She stood up, and his voice sounded from behind, “Or, you could walk back alone.”
Su Wan paused, but didn’t turn around.
She walked to the car, stretched inside, and retrieved a bottle of water with effort. Returning, she handed it to him, unscrewing the cap. “Drink some water. Your men should be able to track us down.”
Mu Yunshen gazed at her for a long time, then suddenly broke into laughter.
Su Wan frowned. “What are you laughing at?”
“Nothing. Just suddenly thought, dying here doesn’t seem so bad.”
“Could you stop talking about dying?” Su Wan gritted her teeth.
“Are you afraid?” he asked, watching her closely.
She didn’t want to answer such a pointless question and turned her face away.
Mu Yunshen coughed softly. Su Wan pressed the bottle to his lips, urging, “Drink your water!”
He finally drank a few mouthfuls, then lay down again. Perhaps he touched his wound, for he let out a low hiss.
Su Wan rushed to him. “Why are you lying down again? Sit up!”
“I’m exhausted. I need to sleep.”
His words matched the pallor on his face. Su Wan pursed her lips. “Sleep facedown, then!”
“That’s uncomfortable, unless…”
“Unless what?” she asked, but before she could finish, he pulled her close, rolled over, and lay atop her.
“Much more comfortable this way,” he said, grinning mischievously.
Su Wan’s cheeks flushed instantly. She wanted to protest but worried about his injuries, so she could only grit her teeth. “Let go of me!”
“Relax, I’m injured—I won’t do anything to you.”
His gentle words, his breath brushing her ear, only made her cheeks burn hotter. She turned her face aside, teeth clenched.
“That night, I really didn’t touch her,” Mu Yunshen’s voice came suddenly.
Su Wan froze, took a deep breath. “I don’t care. There’s even a photo—what more is there to say?”
“It’s obvious, isn’t it? Do you know why?” He opened his eyes, looking at her earnestly.
She met his gaze. “Why?”
“Because if I really did touch her, she wouldn’t have had the energy to take photos.”
As he spoke, he carefully smoothed her hair. Su Wan took a long moment to process his meaning, her face growing even redder. “Mu Yunshen, you scoundrel! Get off me!”
“No. Your body’s so soft, and you smell so sweet…”
Before he finished, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed her. Su Wan’s eyes widened, her hands pressed against his chest, but it was futile.
His body was heavy above hers, growing hotter against her abdomen, an undeniable hardness pressing there…
His kiss was fierce and possessive, tinged with the faint taste of blood. Su Wan’s breath grew shallow, her resistance fading, her hands slowly slipping from his chest.
Mu Yunshen sensed her surrender and deepened the kiss, trailing downward. Suddenly, Su Wan heard a tearing sound—he’d ripped her blouse open.
