Chapter 14: Scoundrel!

Su Wan paid him no mind, hailed a taxi, and left.

To be honest, Su Wan herself didn’t know what was wrong with her. Why was her reaction so intense? From the very beginning, she knew she and Mu Yunshen lived in different worlds—so different that even friendship was impossible. Yet why…

When she finished work, she immediately noticed the SUV parked nearby. She hesitated, pretended not to see it, and turned to leave, but Mu Yunshen got out of the car and stopped her. “What’s wrong?”

“Mr. Mu, I’ll return your money as soon as possible. Please don’t show up at my company—it’s not good for my reputation.”

With those words, Su Wan avoided his hand and tried to leave, but Mu Yunshen blocked her way. “I didn’t come here to collect the money.”

Su Wan was forced to look up at him. “What do you want?”

“I want to take you home,” he said, smiling quickly.

Facing his smile, Su Wan felt a sudden, inexplicable anger. She struggled to keep it down. “No need. I have my own car.”

As soon as she finished, Su Wan pushed him aside and walked ahead. Mu Yunshen didn’t follow her.

Su Wan didn’t want to go home, but her father was still angry, and if she returned now, he would surely lecture her. So she wandered aimlessly, driving her car until she suddenly found herself in front of Mu Yunshen’s bar. She glanced inside, pressed her lips together, restarted the car, and headed home.

After parking, Su Wan had just reached the elevator when a hand suddenly grabbed her! Startled, she let out a scream. Turning, she saw Mu Yunshen smiling at her. “So easily frightened?”

Already in a bad mood, Su Wan couldn’t help but kick him once when she realized it was him. “Get out of my way!”

The elevator doors opened just then, and as Su Wan stepped inside, Mu Yunshen followed her in.

“Even if you’re angry, shouldn’t you tell me why? Otherwise, you’re leaving me completely confused!” Mu Yunshen said, sounding slightly aggrieved.

Su Wan said nothing.

Mu Yunshen looked at her. “Is it… did Li Man say something to you?”

Su Wan’s expression changed.

Seeing that, Mu Yunshen knew he’d guessed right. He frowned. “What bad things did she say about me?”

“Mr. Mu.” Su Wan turned to look at him. “It has nothing to do with Miss Li. To be honest, you’ve helped me a lot these days, and I’m grateful. But it’s just gratitude. There’s no possibility of anything between us, so please—don’t waste any more time on me.”

As her words ended, the elevator arrived at her floor. She stepped forward to leave, but Mu Yunshen suddenly pulled her back. Su Wan was pinned against the elevator wall, and before she could react, he lowered his head and kissed her!

Su Wan’s eyes widened. Her immediate reaction was to push him away, but Mu Yunshen was strong, holding her hands with one hand and stealing all her breath with his lips!

The elevator continued its ascent.

Su Wan gritted her teeth and bit down hard on his lips!

Finally, Mu Yunshen let her go. Su Wan raised her hand to slap him, but he caught her wrist.

Su Wan clenched her teeth. “Scoundrel!”
