Mu Yunshen let out a low chuckle.

Hearing that laugh, Su Wan immediately released her grip and said, "Stop the car!"

"Wait, we’re not there yet!"

As his words reached her, Su Wan suddenly remembered something. Glancing around, she realized she was in unfamiliar surroundings. How could she have forgotten that the man in front of her was hardly any safer than the two from earlier?

"Where are you taking me?"

"Naturally, somewhere nice."

Just as Su Wan was debating whether to jump out of the car, he brought the vehicle to a stop.

It was a late-night food stall.

Su Wan was momentarily stunned.

At that moment, Mu Yunshen had already walked over. "Madam, two bowls of beef noodles, please."

"Ah Shen, you’re here again," the proprietress greeted him with a warm smile. Mu Yunshen nodded in acknowledgment, then glanced at Su Wan, who was still rooted to the spot. "What, turned silly? Come here!"

At his words, Su Wan finally snapped out of her daze and obediently sat down beside him.

"Why… why did you bring me here?" Su Wan frowned.

Mu Yunshen's gaze seemed to flicker toward the medicine in her hand, but he merely said, "No reason. Didn’t you say last time you’d have a meal with me? I’m hungry."

Before Su Wan could reply, the proprietress had already brought over the beef noodles.

"Ah Shen, is this your girlfriend?" The proprietress, who seemed to know Mu Yunshen well, smiled at Su Wan.

Su Wan shook her head immediately. "No."

Mu Yunshen smiled. "If she’s willing, then she is."

The proprietress, a woman in her forties at the prime of her gossiping years, turned to Su Wan at his words. "Let me tell you, Ah Shen is a fine young man, and he knows how to care for people. If you don’t say yes soon, someone else will snatch him up..."

The proprietress went on and on, and if not for other customers arriving, she might have continued even longer. Su Wan could only keep smiling politely. When she saw the delighted smile on Mu Yunshen’s face, she couldn’t help but glare at him.

Mu Yunshen pointed at her noodles. "Eat up, or they’ll get soggy."

To be honest, Su Wan was indeed hungry. After wiping her chopsticks, she picked out all the cilantro from her bowl.

Mu Yunshen watched her. "You’re a picky eater?"

"I don’t eat cilantro," Su Wan replied without looking up. Once she’d removed every trace, she began to eat.

The noodles tasted wonderful, and since her stomach had been empty all day, in no time, her bowl was spotless.

Mu Yunshen paid the bill and handed her a helmet. "Alright, I’ll take you home."

Su Wan eyed his motorcycle warily.

Mu Yunshen glanced around. "If you don’t want me to take you, that’s fine, but it isn’t safe around here. You’re a good-looking woman—if someone were to take you somewhere bad…"

Before he could finish, Su Wan had already put on the helmet and climbed onto the back seat.

Mu Yunshen chuckled, started the engine, and asked, "Where do you live?"

"…Binjiang Apartments."

"Mm, are the property prices high there?"

"…What do you mean?"

"I’m thinking of buying a place near you. Haven’t you heard the saying about being close to the water?"

"…"

On the way back, he was well-behaved. Motorcycles weren’t allowed into the complex, so he stopped at the entrance.

"When you’re inside, give me a call. I’ll wait here."

"Our complex is very safe."

"Just do as I say. Go on in, take your medicine, and get some sleep." As he spoke, Mu Yunshen ruffled her hair. "Go on."

Su Wan glanced at him and turned to head inside.

Once she was home, she called him. "I’m home."

"Where do you live?" Mu Yunshen asked.

Su Wan walked to the balcony, waved down at him, and saw him give a small laugh. "I see you. Remember to take your medicine. I’m leaving now. Good night."

"…Good night."
