Chapter 159: Just Hellbent on Court Death!
Looking at his own flesh and blood who had suddenly died on the ground, Peng Yao looked like a maniac, letting out a desperate, shrill howl.
How could this be? How could his younger brother die!
Who on earth were these two people? How dare they murder Xiao Guang? They were courting death!
"Who the hell are you? How dare you trespass into my Peng family? Aren't you afraid I'll kill you right now?"
Despite his overwhelming fury, Peng Yao remained extremely cautious. Having survived the brutal struggles of the underworld for many years, he naturally understood that when things seemed unnatural, monsters were bound to be lurking.
For these two individuals to appear so blatantly in his own courtyard, they must have come fully prepared.
"Who am I? You don't recognize me?"
Ye Tian chuckled upon hearing this, pointing at his own nose and asking, "Take a good look. Don't die later without even figuring out who killed you."
"Wait... you are... Ye Tian!"
After shaking off the alcoholic haze, Peng Yao finally managed to get a clear look at the intruder. But when Ye Tian's face came into sharp focus within his field of vision, his entire mind went blank.
How was this possible? How could this possibly be!
Wasn't Ye Tian already dead? There had long been conclusive international evidence proving that he had perished in a plane crash!
How could this man possibly have returned?
Could it be that he had turned into an evil ghost, returning in a ghostly form to exact his revenge?
"Correct! And there's a prize. How about a one-day tour of the netherworld?"
"Ye Tian, you really are Ye Tian!"
After repeatedly confirming the identity of the person before him, Peng Yao let out a grim, ferocious laugh. "You came here to find me without a shred of fear—could it be that you're confident you can defeat me?"
"I'm telling you, Ye Tian, you might be in the Big Dipper Realm, but I am too!"
"Furthermore, I am in the late stage of the Big Dipper Realm!"
"If we really fight, you might not be my match!"
That was what he said, but deep down, Peng Yao felt completely unsure of himself. Judging by Ye Tian's past exploits in Zhongdu, the other man's cultivation at best reached the Big Dipper Realm; he simply could not be a match for a Martial King.
Later on, wary of provoking a formidable foe, he had stopped paying attention to the Ye family altogether.
It wasn't until he heard the international reports of Ye Tian's death that the vicious desire to devour the Ye family had arisen in his heart.
This guy was entirely out of touch with current news...
Ye Tian let out a amused chuckle.
Indeed, his martial arts cultivation was merely at the humble Big Dipper Realm, but his alchemy cultivation had already reached the Integration Realm. Ordinary Martial Kings were simply no match for him.
This fool couldn't even keep abreast of basic information, yet he dared to casually strike at people?
He was utterly, breathtakingly stupid.
"Ye Tian, you killed my blood relative and my younger brother. Theoretically, I should be seeking revenge against you. However, considering that during your absence, my Peng family may have committed some offenses against you..."
"Let's call it even—tit for tat. Why don't we shake hands and make peace?"
"That way, we can avoid mutual destruction and prevent other families from profiting at our expense. Don't you agree?"
As he spoke, Peng Yao's drunkenness completely vanished. He felt increasingly grateful that he hadn't acted on impulse earlier, choosing instead to negotiate immediately.
Driven by selfish motives, he should have fought the other man to the bitter end; but driven by the collective duty toward his family, he had to prioritize the bigger picture.
With so many mouths to feed and so many hands reaching out for money, he simply lacked the courage to throw everything away.
Ye Tian nodded upon hearing this.
"What you say makes a lot of sense."
"In that case, you may leave, or you can stay for a cup of tea before you go," Peng Yao quickly seized upon the words, feeling a sudden surge of relief.
"However!" Ye Tian abruptly changed the subject.
"However, that would only apply if we were evenly matched enough to destroy each other."
"With your pathetic combat power, you aren't even worth the effort of killing." He shook his head, and a powerful, oppressive aura instantly erupted from his entire body, nearly bending the trees in the courtyard.
Peng Yao felt a tight constriction in his chest. His complexion changed drastically, and he tumbled backward to the ground.
"You... you... you!"
"How is this possible? Could it be that you've already broken through to the Martial King realm? You couldn't possibly have advanced this fast!"
Trembling as he looked up at Ye Tian towering above him, he began to babble incoherently. "I must be dreaming. Yes, I must be dreaming."
"Or maybe I'm drunk—yes, that's it, I'm just drunk!"
Peng Yao laughed hysterically in a shrill tone, utterly refusing to believe that a young man of only twenty-five could reach the Martial King realm.
In the entire Dragon Kingdom, such a thing was unheard of—it was simply horrifyingly shocking!
This wretch had been pushed to the brink of a mental breakdown by sheer terror.
That was Ye Tian's conclusion.
"Master, how should we deal with him?"
"Cripple him first. I want him to witness the utter helplessness of his own family being persecuted. Once he has fully savored that agony, send him off to meet the Jade Emperor!"
"Understood!"
Stepping forward in a flash, Li Jingxiang moved with ghostly speed. Amidst a series of miserable screams, she shattered all four of Peng Yao's limbs, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and hoisted him up into the air.
"Let's continue."
Expressionless, Ye Tian spoke with his hands clasped behind his back, strolling leisurely forward.
Every time he passed a courtyard, he would stop and rummage through it.
"Is this the third one?"
Ye Tian pointed at a young girl who had just turned eighteen and asked.
"Ye Tian, what do you want to do? What do you want to do?!" With his limbs crippled, Peng Yao could only emit a furious roar as he watched Ye Tian walk toward the trembling girl.
"Ye Tian, if you dare touch my daughter, I swear I'll never let you go!"
"Fine, then I won't touch her."
A wicked, charming smile flashed across the young man's face. A blade of light swept through the air, and the terror-stricken expression on the young girl's face froze in place as she collapsed straight to the ground.
"No! No!"
Peng Yao let out a piercing, agonizing shriek, but nothing could reverse the outcome. His daughter was dead beyond saving, and he could only watch helplessly as her corpse grew cold.
"You still have a wife, and a second son, right? Don't rush, take your time."
"No, Ye Tian, I was wrong! I beg you, make me do anything you want, just spare my wife and children! Please, I was wrong!"
"You were wrong?"
Turning back to look at the groveling man, Ye Tian sneered coldly, his voice suddenly dropping low.
His eyes flickered with a faint, eerie light.
Peng Yao shuddered all over, feeling as though he were staring into the eyes of some malevolent ghost lurking at the bottom of a deep well, jolting his entire nervous system awake.
"When your Peng family ancestors imprisoned living beings, drinking their blood and draining their vital essence, did you ever think you were wrong?"
"When they drove eight iron chains through other people's spines, making them wish for death while unable to die, did they ever think they were wrong?"
"When you sent men to murder ordinary citizens, beating them viciously until they were crippled and paralyzed, and when you used your family's connections to swallow other people's assets and persecute their relatives and friends, did you ever think you were wrong?!"
At this very moment, the soul of the Flood Dragon and Ye Tian's own rage intertwined. Two pairs of deep, ghostly pupils overlapped, staring fixedly down at Peng Yao.
"I already gave you a chance. Too bad you didn't cherish it."
Ye Tian said indifferently.
If the Peng family had kept a low profile and hidden away obediently during this period, he certainly wouldn't have remembered them, let alone come looking for trouble.
Yet they just had to refuse reason and court their own death!
