Chapter 146: Inaudible
Gu Shiyan raised his eyelids, picked up Luo Xing, and carried her to the storage cabinet in the corner, setting her down on top of it.
This way, Luo Xing didn't need to stand on her tiptoes, and he didn't need to stoop.
Luo Xing rarely had the opportunity to look down at Gu Shiyan like this.
Sitting on the cabinet, she was half a head taller than him, and Gu Shiyan had to tilt his head back to kiss her. Perhaps remembering her complaint about her legs being sore just a moment ago, he obediently began to massage her calves.
The sound of their breathing was jarring in the quiet corridor. As the kiss deepened, Luo Xing’s mind began to wander. Just as she started to worry that someone might suddenly appear and discover them, Gu Shiyan forced her lips apart, brushing against her teeth. Luo Xing grabbed his hair, putting all her strength into it. Gu Shiyan let out a hiss; they were pressed so tightly together that there wasn't even a sliver of space between them.
Luo Xing threw her head back, and Gu Shiyan pressed a hand against her waist, his other hand bracing against the cabinet beside her, completely encircling her in his arms.
Luo Xing adjusted her breathing. Her mind was a chaotic mess, wondering if he ever took a breath. This was far too exhausting. When would it end? Her neck was a bit sore. Her lips felt numb and even a little painful. Would they swell?
Luo Xing pushed against his waist, "Mm..."
Gu Shiyan paused for a few seconds when pushed, slowly lifting his gaze to look at her, their breathing ragged and hurried.
"Any more, and they'll swell." Luo Xing didn't want to be stared at with knowing looks by others.
Gu Shiyan’s collarbone rose and fell. His dark, cold, and profound eyes lifted, watching Luo Xing’s frowning, pitiful expression before sliding down to fixate on her lips.
Yes, they were a little swollen.
"Did I kiss you too hard?"
He lowered his voice intentionally, filled with an indescribable tenderness and affection, his dark eyes brimming with devotion. "I won't kiss that hard anymore, okay?"
Luo Xing pursed her lips, feeling dazed by his look, and gave a slow, sluggish nod.
Gu Shiyan held her waist with both hands, adjusted his posture, and gently pressed his lips against her soft ones.
Slowly, gently, he ground them against hers. It was nothing like before; he slid the tip of his tongue over her lips and teeth, kissing her very slowly.
Luo Xing, gripping his shoulders, found this even more torturous. She felt a tingling sensation that made her tremble uncontrollably.
Gu Shiyan moved his hands up her waist, his fingertips caressing her trembling shoulder blades. The gentle, slow kiss suddenly intensified, and their breathing grew rapid once more.
Luo Xing’s cheeks flushed pink. She patted his shoulder, but Gu Shiyan ignored her.
"Stop..."
Luo Xing managed to pull her head back to say.
Gu Shiyan held her firmly, unmoved, his voice drawling with a long, lazy tone, "What did you say, baby? I can't hear you."
As soon as he finished, he sealed her lips again, giving her no chance to respond.
Gu Shiyan even pinned her hands, refusing to let her pull away. Luo Xing didn't move at all; he was the one doing all the work. Occasionally, he would pause for a few seconds, lowering his eyelids to stare intensely at Luo Xing, whispering in her ear, "You seem to like this very much, don't you, baby?"
"..."
"Gu Shiyan..." Luo Xing lowered her eyes and shrank back, her gaze landing on Gu Shiyan’s glistening, vibrant lips.
"Do you like it like this?" Gu Shiyan stroked her slowly. "Baby?"
"..." Luo Xing pursed her lips. She leaned her head on Gu Shiyan’s shoulder, her body unable to stop going limp.
The phone left to the side began to ring.
Gu Shiyan glanced over. Seeing it was a call from her mother, Luo Xing immediately picked it up.
"Xingxing? Where are you? You didn't reply to my messages. We're downstairs, come quickly."
"Okay..." Luo Xing replied softly, her voice a bit raspy.
The person on the other end was likely a bit tipsy and didn't notice anything unusual, hanging up shortly after.
However, Gu Shiyan had heard her suppressed, sobbing whimper clearly.
"You're crying." Gu Shiyan felt the dampness on his neck. His hand, resting on her back, paused and gave a gentle pat. "What's wrong?"
"It’s not like I made you cry, right?" Receiving no response, Gu Shiyan tilted his head to look at Luo Xing.
He cradled her face to look closely; tears rolled down her cheeks, slowly sliding into her sweater.
Gu Shiyan raised his hand, his thumb wiping the tears that had caught on her eyelashes.
"Why? Are you the only one allowed to cry?" Luo Xing used the time he had cried previously to deflect.
Gu Shiyan curled his lips. "That was because I was sleepy."
"I'm sleepy too," Luo Xing replied without hesitation.
Luo Xing slid down from the cabinet, steadied by Gu Shiyan.
"Are your legs still sore?" Gu Shiyan only asked because he saw her stumble, but he was met with a fierce glare from Luo Xing.
Gu Shiyan didn't get angry; instead, he chuckled. He took the silk handkerchief tucked neatly in his upper-right pocket to wipe the corner of Luo Xing’s mouth before using it to wipe his own hands.
Luo Xing breathed, really not wanting to speak to Gu Shiyan, and turned to leave in silence.
She was pulled back by Gu Shiyan. "Leaving?"
Luo Xing gave him a light, indifferent look, her eyes conveying her speechlessness.
Gu Shiyan gripped her other hand as well, hooked his pinky finger around hers as if to curry favor, took a step closer, and lowered his head to whisper, "Are you just going to ignore me, baby?"
Their eyes met. Luo Xing saw a smile bloom at the corners of his mouth, his gaze fixed on her without a flicker.
"If you want to see me again tomorrow, let go of me." Luo Xing shook the hand he was gripping.
When she had tried to pull away earlier, he had grabbed her just like this. Even in the dim light, she knew her wrist must be red from his hold.
Gu Shiyan grabbed the down jacket nearby and helped her put it on. "Are you uncomfortable?"
Luo Xing frowned slightly. Afraid that if she said she was uncomfortable, Gu Shiyan would start again, she tugged at the corner of her mouth and said she was fine.
As Gu Shiyan zipped up her jacket, she looked down and saw her small V-neck was wrinkled and stained with deep wet marks.
"Then I'll try to do better next time?"
Luo Xing swatted away his hand, which had been touching her neck after he finished zipping the jacket. "I really have to go."
"I'll take you down."
The two walked out of the corridor and headed to the elevator. Neither spoke during the journey.
Luo Xing looked up at the floor numbers; the first floor was almost there.
Gu Shiyan brushed her hand.
Luo Xing didn't look at him.
"Baby..." Gu Shiyan hooked her fingertips, his voice low and soft.
Luo Xing raised her eyes to bestow a single glance upon him.
Gu Shiyan’s gaze was like sticky glue; his eyes reflected the light, and his lingering, adhesive stare seemed to wrap her up, leaving no room for breath, causing her own breathing to slow.
Luo Xing sighed helplessly and gave a cold, "Mm."
"Let me rub it for you." Gu Shiyan took her hand and massaged her wrist, pushing back her sleeve. It was indeed red from his grip.
"I won't hold you so hard next time." Gu Shiyan moved her wrist gently, the tenderness in his eyes devoid of any edge.
Luo Xing pursed her lips and looked at him.
The way their eyes intertwined was more intimate than kissing.
*Ding—*
Luo Xing walked out, and Gu Shiyan followed her closely, never leaving her side.
He kept calling her "baby" behind her back, endlessly.
Luo Xing curled her lips and said, "Be a good boy and work hard. I'll come see you tomorrow at noon."
