Volume 1, Chapter 177: The Paranormal Club (1)
Qin Yu narrowed her eyes, casting an inquiring gaze at the unconscious Zhao Kexin lying on the ground behind her.
Following the direction of Qin Yu’s gaze, the dark mist suddenly flared up with intense anger. It glared at Qin Yu with venom, looking as though it wanted to tear her limb from limb.
With a single, indifferent glance from Qin Yu, the lingering resentment instantly vanished into thin air. The dark mist tossed its head up, darting its gaze around and haphazardly pulling at its face mask, acting as though the hateful expression had never belonged to it in the first place.
Qin Yu let out a soft "humph," deciding not to stoop to its level. Her pretty eyebrows curved gently. "Spit it out. What on earth is your grievance with her?"
"Her," of course, referred to the unconscious Zhao Kexin on the ground.
The dark mist was slightly startled, immediately revealing a look of anticipation. But then, as if recalling something, it deflated instantly. "What's the use of telling you? You people always protect your own kind, don't you?"
Qin Yu sighed. Just as she thought she would have to explain herself all over again, the dark mist let out a sigh as well. "Forget it. I'll tell you then."
Qin Yu: "???"
Seeing Qin Yu's perplexed expression, the dark mist puffed itself up and explained, "Can't I just look for someone to vent to?"
[Hahaha, do ghosts get lonely too?]
[I don't know why, but I think this ghost is actually kind of cute.]
[Little ghost, don't worry. My goddess will see that justice is served for you!]
[Hey~ upstairs, if I remember correctly, weren't you scared to death just a moment ago? You change your tune really fast, don't you?]
The dark mist slammed its head against the ground. In an instant, the ghostly energy shattered, and shortly afterward, it re-gathered into four slightly smaller clusters of dark mist.
Qin Yu’s brown pupils constricted slightly as the four dark shadows in front of her began to dissipate at a speed visible to the naked eye, slowly revealing the forms hidden within.
They were four young faces—three boys and a girl.
Perhaps not expecting to recover their mortal appearances, the group grew slightly excited.
Feeling her legs grow a bit sore, Qin Yu cast her gaze around her surroundings.
"Xiao Yu, sit."
At that exact moment, Murong appeared, accompanied instantaneously by a school stool.
Qin Yu raised an eyebrow at him. "How did it go?"
Murong proudly patted his small chest, boasting smugly, "When I, Murong, take action, one of me is worth two."
[What secret code are goddess and Murong speaking in again? I want to know.]
[Blind guess, it's about Li Goudan.]
[Suddenly my gossipy heart has been stirred. What actually happened to Li Goudan in the end?]
Qin Yu glanced at the screen and said nothing.
Instead, the scenes Murong had just experienced flooded into her mind—
Li Goudan had indeed come to his senses. Especially after waking up from despair to find that Xie Wanqing had left, and had even taken Yanzi with her. At that moment, memories of every little detail of his time with Xie Wanqing and Yanzi flooded his mind, and tears burst from his eyes instantly.
He buried his head in his hands and howled. He realized that what he had always resisted wasn't Xie Wanqing herself, but the fact that his father had found him a stepmother without ever listening to his opinion.
Thinking of the things he had done in the dream, he no longer had the face to see Xie Wanqing and Yanzi again.
He was consumed by deep regret, but there was no medicine for regret in this world.
Pulling back her thoughts, Qin Yu's gaze fell upon the faces of the three boys and one girl before her. "Can you talk now?"
The three boys and one girl had all died at the age of seventeen or eighteen. As soon as Qin Yu spoke, they fell silent instantly, like children caught gossiping by a teacher.
After a moment, it was the boy who appeared slightly older among them who finally spoke, "Master, she stole our things."
