Volume 1, Chapter 144: The World's Greatest Sword
Qin Yu’s mouth twitched slightly. Sometimes, she really wanted to hit someone—no, draw her sword.
Wang Changqian, observing the spiritual energy circulating around Qin Yu, finally realized he had been deceived by the combined efforts of Qin Yu and the Changyi Tai Sword. He was so furious that his mustache stood up in an exaggerated display of rage.
"You swindler! Just like Lin Changxiu, you're all swindlers!" he roared, raising his sword—only to realize he was holding a short blade. He quickly formed a seal to swap it for a long sword. The blade was wreathed in blue energy, its pale glow flickering with an uncanny, eerie light. Wang Changqian stroked his mustache and let out a heavy, triumphant "Hmph."
The Changyi Tai Sword in Qin Yu's hand chilled, its blade emitting energy like sharp icicles shooting forward. Wang Changqian raised his long sword to parry, but the icicles pierced straight into the metal.
And then, Wang Changqian's sword bent. It bent physically. The once-straight blade drooped limply, a look of utter, defeated surrender. The smug smile on Wang Changqian’s face froze.
"What is wrong with you? Failing me at a critical moment? Pull yourself together!"
The blue sword swayed, emitting a whimpering sound. "That’s the Changyi Tai Sword, the Chief of All Swords! I can't compete with that!" It had a chubby, simple-minded voice.
Wang Changqian was incensed. "Useless trash!"
The simple-minded voice was not one bit convinced. "If you're so good, you do it!"
Wang Changqian recited a quick incantation, and the sword immediately fell silent, vanishing into thin air with a soft *pop*.
Qin Yu’s spiritual energy had mostly recovered. She held her sword in one hand, the other tucked behind her back. With a light tap of her toes, her spiritual energy lifted her off the ground. "Old man, is it my turn now?" Her voice drifted down from the air, carrying a powerful resonance.
Even so, the panic on the old man's face lasted only a split second. He calmly stroked his mustache, his clear eyes narrowing. He spoke with an air of profound mystery: "Do you truly think you can kill me?"
Qin Yu ignored him and struck with her sword. The blade energy whipped up the surrounding air currents, forming a small vortex that began sucking in dead leaves and withered branches. These very remnants became the vortex's deadliest weapons. Sharp as blades, they surged toward Wang Changqian.
Qin Yu couldn't understand it, for Wang Changqian made no attempt to defend himself. He even opened his arms, smiling as he welcomed the onslaught. Qin Yu remained tense, prepared for a counterattack, but the gale simply tore the man into fragments. Nothing remained but the long, dragged marks of his shoes on the ground.
Qin Yu felt that things weren't as simple as they seemed, yet she could no longer sense Wang Changqian’s presence in the air. Was he really dead? The eerie smile he wore before his "death" made her skin crawl.
She had no time to ponder, for Lu Jinyuan was missing!
Qin Yu landed, channeling spiritual energy into her palm and striking the ground, leaving a deep imprint. She closed her eyes, sensing Old Man Lu dragging someone away. When she opened them again, her eyes had turned completely black.
Qin Yu stumbled, her vision blurring. Her master had once warned her: although she was born with the Heavenly Eye, it was too defying of the natural order. Each use required a period of rest, or it would cause severe damage—ranging from blindness to madness. She quickly shut the eye, not daring to use it again.
Leaning on the Changyi Sword for a moment to recover, she felt slightly better and gave chase. Fortunately, Old Man Lu had no intention of fleeing far, and Qin Yu caught up within a few steps.
Before she could arrive, Old Man Lu had already begun pumping waves of baleful energy back into Lu Jinyuan’s body. Seeing Qin Yu, he threw Lu Jinyuan aside like a shield and leapt into a car prepared in the courtyard. However, despite the engine revving to its maximum speed, the car didn't budge an inch.
"What is going on?" Lu Chen demanded angrily.
The driver was equally bewildered. "I-I don't know! The car isn't broken!" He stepped on the gas pedal with all his might. The vehicle groaned with a violent, vibrating hum.
"Ah! Her! Her! Her!" The driver screamed, pointing at the rearview mirror.
Lu Chen looked up and saw Qin Yu holding onto the back of the car. Meanwhile, Lu Jinyuan, whom he had discarded like a shield, lay on the ground vomiting blood.
Lu Chen: "???" His eyelid twitched. This Qin Yu was truly ruthless; she could actually watch someone die without intervening. He looked anxiously at the blood-spitting Lu Jinyuan—what if he died from the impact? If he died, what would happen to his vessel?
At this thought, he couldn't help but feel resentful toward Qin Yu. The woman didn't even have the decency to save the person first! Truly lacking in morals.
*Crunch.*
The car made a strange noise. With a surge of strength, Qin Yu yanked the vehicle backward. With a thunderous *bang*, the car slammed into a century-old camphor tree, the hood crumpling instantly. The airbags deployed, pinning Lu Chen and the driver tightly inside.
Only then did Qin Yu rush to Lu Jinyuan’s side to check his condition. She pressed her index and middle fingers together and tapped firmly on his chest. Lu Jinyuan finally stopped vomiting blood.
Qin Yu took out her phone and dialed the police and the ambulance. The police were for Lu Chen; the ambulance was for Lu Jinyuan.

At the foot of Mount Jingfang, several groups of young people gathered, peering toward the mountain. "I wonder how the Master is doing? Did everything go smoothly?"
"Pah, pah, pah! What are you saying? It must have gone smoothly!"
"Ah, yes, yes! My mistake!" The person quickly slapped his own mouth twice.
Among the crowd, someone asked, "Where is Siying?"
"I don't know, she was just here a moment ago!"
"That girl is so disobedient. I shouldn't have brought her along!"
At that very moment, Wang Siying, who had snuck off into the bushes to relieve herself, was suddenly struck by a beam of white light. After a brief moment of dizziness, she stood up...
