A reluctant smile spread across Lu Zhaochuan’s face, his whole being immersed in the moment. Unconsciously, he withdrew his hand and finally fixed his gaze on Lin Yihuan.

“Huanhuan, it seems your method really works. When I marry your sister someday, I’ll definitely give you a big red envelope!”

Lin Yihuan’s smile was somewhat stiff and forced. She didn’t want any big red envelope at all...

In recent days, Lin Zhiyu had been staying at the Shen family’s home, surprisingly sleeping well. Yet, knowing she had to work the next day, she set an alarm to wake up early.

As she finished getting ready and headed downstairs, she saw Fang Li waiting patiently.

Glancing at the time, Lin Zhiyu’s face showed a hint of surprise.

“Assistant Fang, it’s only seven o’clock. You’re here so early. Did you even sleep last night?”

Fang Li awkwardly scratched his head.

“I just stayed here last night to rest. The boss assigned the task, so I didn’t dare waste any time.”

Lin Zhiyu recalled Shen Du’s reminder from yesterday.

Since Fang Li was accompanying her all the way to the company today, could it be that he hadn’t rested well because of this matter?

“Sorry for troubling you,” Lin Zhiyu said sheepishly.

“Miss Lin, you’re too polite. It’s my duty,” Fang Li replied with a smile, then glanced toward the dining table. “Breakfast is ready, and we still have time. Let’s eat first, and I’ll introduce you to the company on the way.”

Lin Zhiyu had planned to skip breakfast, but hearing this, she agreed.

She invited Fang Li to join, but he declined.

After hastily eating a few bites, uncomfortable with someone waiting on her, Lin Zhiyu stood up and quickly grabbed her coat, leaving with Fang Li.

Only then did footsteps echo from upstairs.

Shen Du stood silently at the stairwell, watching the two leave. A barely perceptible expression flickered in his eyes, his thoughts unknown.

In the car, Lin Zhiyu studied the documents Fang Li handed her, her expression serious.

“Though a personal secretary is different from a corporate one, you’ll still need several days of training. After all, you don’t know much yet, and without proper training, many things will feel unfamiliar,” Fang Li patiently explained. “I’ll bring you to the secretary department to report in. A professional supervisor will guide you on what to do next.”

Lin Zhiyu nodded, still reading the secretary’s code.

It detailed daily tasks, filling an entire page densely.

Indeed, earning two hundred thousand was no easy feat.

The car stopped beneath the company building.

When Lin Zhiyu opened the door, she noticed many eyes on her.

She initially thought perhaps there was something dirty on her.

But upon closer look, nothing was amiss.

“It’s nothing. This is the boss’s car, and a beautiful woman suddenly stepping out naturally draws attention. Miss Lin, please follow me,” Fang Li explained with a smile, then led her to the top floor via the private elevator.

“The secretary department is on the far left. The first room ahead is the boss’s office. My office is on the side. If you have any questions, feel free to come to me anytime.”

Lin Zhiyu looked around the vast space, her eyes shining with anticipation.

If she could truly take root here, even if the work was exhausting, at least she could support herself without relying on others. That feeling was quite pleasant.

Following Fang Li, Lin Zhiyu arrived at the secretary department.

A meeting was in progress. The supervisor was briefing the group on the day’s workflow, and everyone was taking notes diligently.

Lin Zhiyu silently observed, hoping to learn quickly.

“All right, if there’s nothing else, you may disperse,” the supervisor said before turning.

Spotting the long-waiting Fang Li, the supervisor paused, then brightened and smiled warmly as she approached.

“Assistant Fang, what brings you here? Any instructions?”

Her tone was noticeably less haughty than before.

“It’s nothing. This is my younger sister from my hometown. She recently graduated from university and is looking for a job. I brought her here. The boss interviewed her and found her suitable, so she’ll stay as a personal secretary. It’s good for us siblings to look out for each other. She’ll train here for a while first,” Fang Li explained with a smile, revealing nothing of Lin Zhiyu’s true identity.

Given the sensitive nature, it wasn’t wise for too many to know.

The supervisor glanced at Lin Zhiyu, appraising her, then nodded approvingly.

“Not bad. She looks fresh and beautiful.”

“Don’t worry. If she stays here, I’ll personally teach her everything she needs to know,” Fang Li assured before preparing to leave.

“By the way, I prefer this matter to stay confidential, so you...” the supervisor began.

“I won’t reveal her identity to anyone, rest assured,” she finished with a smile.

After Fang Li left, the supervisor turned to Lin Zhiyu.

“Beautiful lady, what’s your name?”

“Hello, supervisor. My name is Lin Zhiyu,” Lin Zhiyu replied, slightly nervous.

Entering an unfamiliar environment, she didn’t know what to expect.

The supervisor nodded and pointed to a vacant seat.

“Sit over there. I still have some files to finish. Later, I’ll personally guide you. The employee handbook is in the desk drawer; take a look first.”

Lin Zhiyu responded and moved to the seat.

Once the supervisor left, the quiet room soon filled with murmurs.

“It’s been a while since we had a newcomer in the secretary department. Looks like we’ll have to work harder.”

“Hmph, not sure if she’ll even stay.”

“But she was personally brought by Assistant Fang. What do you think their relationship is?”

Amid the whispers, Lin Zhiyu’s head began to ache.

She acutely felt the awkward gazes upon her.

Just as she was trying to control her temper and focus on work, a woman in a short skirt and high heels suddenly appeared before her.

Crossing her arms, the woman looked down on her with arrogance.

“New girl, what’s your relationship with Assistant Fang? His kept lover?”

Her tone was hostile and repulsive.

Lin Zhiyu frowned, fixing her serious gaze on the woman.

“If you’re so curious, why don’t you ask Assistant Fang directly? Afraid of being scolded?”

The woman froze, stunned with disbelief.

“Do you know who I am?” she snapped.
