Chapter 35: A Fiery Confrontation Between Rivals
Electrum looked at Bai Yue in utter disbelief. How could Long Xingyu have concocted such an absurd theory, suspecting that Bai Yue had an affair with the Demon God Emperor and bore Long Haochen?
"What on earth blinded you into falling for Long Xingyu in the first place?" Electrum asked, watching her with curiosity. He found it hard to believe she could have been that misguided.
Bai Yue curled her lips, crossed her arms, and looked thoroughly annoyed. "Who hasn't been blind, misjudged someone, or made a mistake in their youth?"
Fei Yihan smiled, his lips curving back in a subtle, enigmatic expression that reached his eyes and made them slant upward. A strange, captivating charm radiated from him, stunning everyone present.
What bad luck. Of all the people to run into, it had to be an old nemesis. A cold gust of wind blew, and Mi Yiqing sneezed repeatedly.
She had a long, rambling dream. In it, she was in a vast estate filled with blooming roses, where a man was tending to lotus flowers in a large basin. The blossoms were freshly opened, trembling slightly in the breeze.
"Bang! Bang!" Yang Xiru hammered away frantically, and Zhou Mingjian joined in. But seeing Yang Xiru’s face flushed red as she put every ounce of her strength into it, Zhou Mingjian felt a shiver of alarm, fearing she might break the machine.
Mi Yiqing smiled helplessly. "I'm dressed for it; the child won't be harmed in the slightest. Don't worry! Let's go, let's go!" She urged him forward with a gentle push.
Two months passed in this manner, and her body seemed to be on the mend; she felt more energetic than she had in a long time.
Xiao Shu felt incredibly uncomfortable. Had she known, she wouldn't have brought up Fei Yihan to Yan Lan. She had truly shot herself in the foot.
Jian Wei’s heart tightened. She realized that if Jin Wushu were truly so fixated on her, it would take far more than a mere "Zhao Yun" or an expired imperial decree to resolve the situation.
She looked up at the handsome youth before her and momentarily lost her composure. His deep, azure eyes captivated her so completely that she stood frozen for a moment before managing a reply.
"I will always be by your side." She still remembered the concern and tenderness in Wei Junsheng’s eyes back then. He had held her hand and promised that he would never let her lose her way again.
"Also, open the labyrinth passage and unleash the monsters of the nine clans. Kill everyone you see!" Tao Yi’s tone was cruel and bloodthirsty.
The reason Wang Wei didn't enter the first grade until he was thirteen wasn't due to a late enrollment age, but because he was born with a mild intellectual disability; he had repeated the first grade three times, making him an overage student.
Xiao Xiao stepped forward, her gait unsteady as she made her way toward him, then reached out and placed her hands directly into his thick, warm palms.
She opened her hand again and produced the Spirit Bead belonging to the Spirit King. As expected, the Snake Princess’s eyes lit up once more, and Yue Qianhuan spoke.
Yun Jinli replied. She hadn't seen everyone in a long time, so she decided to take this opportunity to gather them all together.
Yun Xi watched Yi Qianmo walk toward the makeshift dressing room, anticipating what kind of "monster" she would see emerge.
"Fourth Brother will have a way!" Shen Peiyun knew deep down that their situation was dire, yet she clung to the belief that Wang Si could find a way to lead them to safety.
If he could do it all over again, he would still make the same choices. Traveling thousands of miles to find her, desperate to bring her home, and fearlessly shielding her from a hail of bullets.
Yet, before them lay only corpses, unresponsive and beyond change, no matter how much they shook or pushed them.
At that moment, her mind immediately conjured the image of the young master next door—the same cold, pale skin, lips as vibrant as fresh blood, and an aura of noble, wicked enchantment.
"Let's take out a few Spirit Recovery Pills and keep them in our hands for easy consumption later," Liu Yun said to Gong Yujing.
A figure in white, Su Wuzhe, appeared, his presence so brilliant it seemed to eclipse the sun. He stopped at the entrance of the hut, smiling at Zhuang Junwu. Yet, the more he smiled, the paler and more unsightly the young Emperor’s complexion became.
