Chapter Thirteen: Xiao Xiu, You’ve Given Birth to a Fine Daughter

Bai Yue watched the six ancestral grandfathers with great interest, eager to hear more juicy gossip from them to share later with Luo Niang. Gossip about the Overturning Demonic Dragon Clan was not something anyone in the demon city could casually know. The Demon God Empress’s harem had only a few consorts, and Luo Niang had never experienced the pleasures of palace intrigue. Bai Yue took this opportunity to fill Luo Niang in through these tidbits.
But the eldest grandfather stopped her. He raised his hand to his forehead in exasperation, glancing silently at the noisy fifth and sixth grandfathers, then scolded with a headache, “Enough, stop the bickering. With descendants like you, I feel utterly ashamed.”
“Exactly! You’ve been squabbling over this stale old nonsense for five or six hundred years—don’t you ever get tired of it?” the second grandfather chimed in, joining the complaint.
The eldest grandfather composed himself and smiled at Bai Yue. “Child, don’t be fooled by their quarrels now. Back in the day, we were a model of filial piety and harmony.”
Trying to salvage the image of these unruly descendants, the eldest grandfather spoke with effort. Bai Yue could only smile faintly, realizing that he was the supreme ancestor, the highest in rank, so all the grandfathers listened to him and dared not be too unruly in his presence.
“Great-great-great-grandfather, I feel like calling you that is making you sound old,” Bai Yue said affectionately, linking her arm with his and smiling warmly.
The venerable old man, over seven thousand years old, felt his once frozen heart soften at the tender voice of his grandchild calling him so sweetly.
The eldest grandfather made a decisive decree: “Child, we are the hidden strength of the demon race, the Supreme Elders. Within our clan, just call us Grandfather One, Grandfather Two, Grandfather Three, and so forth.”
“For the outside world, our identity is Supreme Elders. Every Demon God Emperor who inherits the throne learns of our existence. So don’t worry about explaining us to Feng Xiu when you return.”
Bai Yue blinked, realizing something. “Great-grandfather, you said that every Demon God Emperor knows of you after taking the throne. Then why can I see you just by activating the Overturning Demonic Dragon Clan’s bloodline?”
“Child, because you are the prophesied Mother of Destiny, the key to saving our demon race’s fate,” the Supreme Elder smiled warmly.
“It’s too soon to say more now. Just know that whatever you intend to do, the demon race is your backing.”
Bai Yue emerged confusedly from the Overturning Demonic Dragon Pillar and hurried back to the Demon God Palace, her spiritual sea still housing the souls of six ninth-rank, ninth-level Overturning Demonic Clan powerhouses.
Seeing Bai Yue emerge so quickly from the pillar, Feng Xiu was dumbfounded. “Yue’er, you were only in there for a day and night. Why are you out so soon? Did something go wrong?”
According to Feng Xiu’s experience, activating the Overturning Demonic Dragon bloodline should take at least ten days and nights. Even though Yue’er was a human-demon hybrid, her cultivation aptitude shouldn’t be poor enough to finish in just a day and night.
Then, a flash of white light appeared, revealing six figures. Feng Xiu’s pupils contracted in disbelief. “Ancestors, why have you all come out? And you came out with Yue’er? Could it be that Yue’er is the prophesied Mother of Destiny?”

Seeing Feng Xiu’s expression, Bai Yue fully believed these elders to be the Supreme Elders of the demon race — the ancestors were truly here.
“Yes, Xiao Xiu! You bore a fine daughter!” the Sixth Supreme Elder praised with heartfelt satisfaction.
Hearing the nickname “Xiao Xiu,” Bai Yue couldn’t help but smile. It was her father’s pet name, as cute as A Bao’s.
“My own father! Could you please have some dignity in front of my daughter? I’m at least a demigod powerhouse now—the Emperor of the Demon Race!” Feng Xiu twitched the corner of his mouth.
“Two hundred years apart, and you’ve become a father with a sense of pride! You care about your image now!” The Sixth Supreme Elder showed surprise but refrained from calling him “Xiao Xiu” again.
“Father, what is this prophecy and the Mother of Destiny you keep mentioning? You’ve got me all confused!” Bai Yue asked, puzzled.
Only then did Feng Xiu begin to explain a secret known only to the successive demon race rulers, the Demon God Emperors, and the Star Demon Gods.
The prophecy of the Mother of Destiny was made by the only Star Demon God in demon history to use life prophecy.
At the dawn of the Way of Heaven, when time rewound and light and darkness intertwined, the Child of Destiny merged with the Heavenly Punishment. Bound by blood, the Mother of Destiny was the sole way to break the cycle—through love’s compassion, the calamity of Heavenly Punishment could be dispelled.
Listening to this prophecy, Bai Yue roughly understood what the Mother of Destiny was about.
Her son, Xiao Haochen, was the Child of Destiny, and she was the child’s mother. So, the way to break the cycle was simply for her to use love to transform the Heavenly Punishment.
“Liu Liu, come out here!” she called.
“Explain to me how I’m supposed to transform the god of Heavenly Punishment, Austin Griffin?”
[Host, use love to transform and educate. Liu Liu believes you can do it.]
I don’t even have confidence myself—how does your belief help?
As for the Supreme Elders’ existence, it is a part of the demon race’s foundation, preserving living power to face the arrival of Heavenly Punishment’s calamity.
But without physical bodies, only souls remain. To prevent assimilation by the imperfect Heavenly Way rules, they rely on the supreme artifact, the Overturning Demonic Dragon Pillar, to resist the devouring of the heavenly laws.
Hearing the Supreme Elder’s explanation, Bai Yue understood why Liu Liu was able to persuade the great grandfathers to follow her.
“Yue’er, your father never expected you to be the Mother of Destiny,” Feng Xiu said wistfully.

“What are your plans now?”
“I plan to take Haochen to the human race. Father, I can cultivate now, and with the protection of six grandfathers, I won’t face any danger,” Bai Yue said with a smile.
Feng Xiu looked at his daughter deeply. Although reluctant, he knew he couldn’t stop her. A Yue bore the responsibility of the Mother of Destiny and had her mission. As a father, all he could do was ensure she had no worries behind her.
After some thought, Feng Xiu said, “Yue’er, Haochen is still young. Why don’t you go first, settle down, then send me word? I’ll bring Haochen over afterward.”
“That kid, if he goes with you, I’ll miss him so much I won’t sleep,” Feng Xiu lamented.
Since her father said so, Bai Yue postponed her departure repeatedly until system Liu Liu warned her that if she delayed any longer, she would miss the census registration in Odin Town and lose the chance to register Haochen for the selection at the Knight’s Sanctuary Odin Branch. Only then did she reluctantly set off.
Feng Xiu used his demigod power to tear open a spatial rift, instantly sending his grandson Haochen and daughter Bai Yue to Odin Town.
Rushing about, Bai Yue settled in Odin Town, eking out a meager living washing clothes.
In secret, however, she steadily increased her power, rising from first to fifth rank spiritual power within a year.
The system Liu Liu placed the removed Light attribute from her body into a puppet created by the system’s shop, assigning it gender and age.
[Name: Bai Qian]
[Attribute: Light]
[Race: Human]
[Age: Six]
Looking at this body, Bai Yue sent a sliver of her divine consciousness imbued with the Way of Heaven’s power to explore it. It responded fluidly, as if made for her—indeed, a system-crafted masterpiece as flexible as her own body.
