Chapter 11: Coughing Up Blood
Han Xiangxiang felt a surge of unwillingness in her heart, nervously tugging at the hem of her clothes as she scrutinized Jiang Bei from head to toe.
Just a glimpse of his profile made her little heart race wildly, pounding like a startled deer.
She had heard that Jiang Bei was unwelcomed at home, usually cold and reticent, so why was he suddenly showing up today to help She Yuqi?
There had to be some secret she didn’t know.
“Good sister, please stop causing trouble… ah!”
“Damn you, sister!”
“You’re the one causing trouble, you blind fool!”
“……”
She Yuqi finally lost her patience and cursed, then stepped forward to kick Han Xiangxiang in the back. “Always speaking with that sarcastic tone, I’ll show you sarcasm! I’ll beat you, you ugly toad. Ugly people always make a fuss!”
“Ah! Help!”
“Enough, She Yuqi!”
Qi Tian was furious, scolding her sharply.
She Yuqi had completely lost her mind, seemingly fueled by endless primal strength, fiercely attacking even Qi Tian, a grown man.
Liu Xiaona grabbed Hu Tao’s arm, stomping anxiously. “Xiangxiang’s being bullied, aren’t we going to do something?”
Hu Tao, with a piggish face that screamed ‘frustrated,’ had to admit he couldn’t defeat Jiang Bei.
Amid the villagers’ shouts, the village chief and Secretary Wang arrived.
The village chief saw She Yuqi riding atop Han Xiangxiang and Qi Tian, throwing punches, and couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth.
Then he glanced at Jiang Bei silently standing by She Yuqi’s side as backup and was utterly speechless.
“Stop this at once!”
“Is this acceptable?” The village chief’s blood pressure soared in anger. Once She Yuqi returned to Xiaogou Village, peace had never returned.
“Village chief, Secretary Wang, you’re finally here! My sister has truly gone mad!”
Han Xiangxiang’s eyes were swollen like walnuts, her hair a tangled mess, and several bright red palm marks adorned her face. Once a delicate beauty, she now looked utterly pitiful, crying helplessly.
Secretary Wang remained silent upon seeing Qi Tian searching for his glasses, his expression one of helplessness. He had no choice but to turn his gaze toward She Yuqi, who held her head high, and asked, “Since no one can explain clearly, why don’t you tell us what really happened?”
She Yuqi leisurely rose to her feet, dusted off her clothes, then swaggered toward Secretary Wang.
Seeing her approach like a zombie, Secretary Wang was startled and instinctively stepped back, shouting, “Stop! Say it right here, I can hear you.”
Under the villagers’ eyes, who looked at her as if she were mad, She Yuqi suddenly shouted at the top of her lungs.
“Oh my mother! What sins did I She Yuqi commit in my past life?!”
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and when she opened them again, they shone like luminous pearls. Her delicate lips moved silently, now calm but with a weary expression, as if deeply hurt.
“Village chief, I know you’ve always disliked my reputation and don’t want me here.”
The village chief lowered his head, silentlyI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
